PETS三级阅读长难句突破 时间： 2006年11月29日 16:59 作者：王晓峰来源：教学部     语法在全国英语等级考试(PETS)中只在结构和词汇部分中有7到8个题目，语法知识似乎在得分上没有多少采分点。但是语法在阅读理解中带来的问题主要体现长难句的理解上（尤其是当一个同学单词背得差不多的时候）。PETS考察的是语法组合中的意思表达和考生的语法实际应用能力，即动态语法（Grammar in action/Grammar express）。 所以，要想在PETS阅读中取得好的分数，语法这一关必须得过。 (一)定语从句 定语从句是考试中涉及最多的一个语法点，阅读考试的特点是多个定语从句叠用，形成中英文的语序差异，不会定语从句的文字处理，阅读在时间上不能保证，阅读速度无从谈起。 句型1：较短定语从句的理解 例: The lady who was standing at the corner of the street was his girlfriend. 译：站在街角的女郎是他的女朋友。 分析 定性数据统计分析pdf销售业绩分析模板建筑结构震害分析销售进度分析表京东商城竞争战略分析 : 这种定语从句较短，将定语从句内容翻译,然后将其置于修饰的先行词前面即可，阅读速度一般不受影响。 句型2：较长定语从句的理解 例:Negro writers was the product of the same world-wide forces that have brought into being the great liberal and radical movements that are now seizing the reins of power in all the countries. 译: 黑人作家已经成为同一种世界力量的产物，这种力量形成于伟大的种族解放运动之中，（这种运动）正在所有的国家里夺取统治权。 分析: 遇到较长的定语从句,则以关系词为断点,将一个长句分成若干短句,利用中文”这(个/种)”将短句进行连接.就可以正确理解了. 句型3 : 先行词+介词+ 关系词which或 whom的理解 例: That’ s the finding of an extensive study of Dutch men in which deaths from heart disease were more than 50 percent lower among those who consumed at least an ounce of salt water fish per day than those who never ate fish. 译: 那就是荷兰人所进行的扩展性研究的成果.在这个研究成果中,我们发现在那些每天至少吃一盎司咸水鱼的人群中,因心脏疾病而死亡的人数比从不吃鱼的的人群人数要低50%以上. 分析: 在中学阶段,我们学到关系词时,我们被告知:关系词是代替先行词在从句中作成分,因此可以说关系词和先行词的关系是相等,因此介词+which/whom可以理解为介词+先行词.本句的in which就可以理解为in the finding of an extensive study of Dutch men. (二)被动语态  句型：It is estimated that／It is observed that／It is reported that. 例: It is observed that although our knowledge greatly exceeds that of our previous ages, there is no corresponding increasing in our wisdom. 译：据观察，虽然我们的知识远超过前一代，在智慧上却没有相应的增长。 分析:被动可在中文中处理为“据估计”（据报道/据发现）比“被估计”要自然一些，这种句型中that后面的叙述才是信息点（尤其是在段落首句的时候）。被动不是阅读中最难的语法点，但是如果不注意被动的语言表达，头脑中反映的中文往往变得怪异，要知道中文中的被动使用频率要远远低于英文,因此当被动句翻译成中文不符合中文表达习惯时,可以尝试翻译成主动语态。 请看下面例子: New sources of energy must be found, and this will take time. 译文：(我们)必须找到新的能源，这需要时间. (三) 名词或代词+V-ing. 例：The band providing music started a melancholy tune. 译：伴奏的乐队演奏忧伤的乐曲。 分析：这种结构在阅读中出现频率较高。往往是-ing分词作了名词或代词的后置定语,因此处理方法同(一)较短的定语从句,翻译-ing分词或词组然后置于他所修饰的名词或代词前即可. (四)名词或代词+V-ed 例: The action group has also found acceptable paper made from materials other than wood, such as agricultural waste. 译: 研究小组终于找到了除木材以外由农业废物等材料制成的可利用纸张. 分析: 该结构在阅读中出现频率也很高.看到该结构,先判断该名词或代词与-ed词之间是主动还是被动关系,若是主动关系,那么该-ed词就是动词一般过去时,是主句谓语动词; 若是被动关系,则该-ed词是过去分词作了该名词或代词的后置定语,翻译同(一)和(三)点,即翻译-ed词或词组(注意翻译出被动的含义)然后置于他所修饰的名词或代词前. (五) 现在分词做伴随状况 这种句子的表达在阅读考试中出现的较高，和中文表达有所不同。中文的动作通常做连贯表达，动词平行出现，但是在英语表达中往往是动词一个为谓语动词为主要表达，另一个动词用现在分词做伴随，显出一种较为松散的表达方式。 例：When the dinner table has been cleared, four automobiles set out again, taking the newly-wed couple to the countryside for a joyride. 译： 当餐桌清理干净之后，四辆汽车再次出发，把新婚夫妇带到田野中兜风。 分析：在上述句子中，不需要在阅读中确定两个动作以谁为主，（有时在语法考试中要求这样做），只要顺着句子向下读即可，不要做语法分析。 (六) it代替不定式或从句做形式主语. 例: It’s hard to restore a broken mirror. 译: 破镜难圆. 例： It has been found out who the murderer is. 译: 已经找出谁是凶手了. 分析: it在英文阅读中较常见的是1)作不定代词 2) 代替不定式或从句做形式主语和形式宾语.因此看到句子中it作主语,而该句里存在不定式或从句,则先将it与该不定式或从句进行替换,看上下文是否通顺,例如本句: who the murderer is has been found out, 句意通顺,因此是it代替从句作了形式主语 ; 若意义不通顺,则it为不定代词,再向前寻找它所指代的名词,词组或句子.例如: Competition is good in itself, it is also the means which other basic American values are protected by.可以看出,这里的it并非代替which从句作形式主语,而是不定代词,代替上文名词competition. 总结 初级经济法重点总结下载党员个人总结TXt高中句型全总结.doc高中句型全总结.doc理论力学知识点总结pdf ：在英文句子中会出现语法点混合使用的特点，只有将这些阅读中出现频率较高的语法点熟练掌握,融会贯通,长难句自然迎刃而解.     阅读中主要的几种逻辑关系及连词       1) 因果关系：because；because of this；since； as； for； in that...； owing to； due to； for ;as a result of this；therefore;consequently；as a result； thus； hence； so；so that...；accordingly;        2) 转折关系：but；even so；however；though；even though；despite that； in spite of that； regardless of; yet...；and yet；       3) 并列关系： and; also；too；as well as；either...，or...；both...and... 4)  (补充)递进关系： furthermore；moreover；further；In this way ；still； not only...but also...； not...but...； in addition (to)；additionally, moreover；in other words； even；        5)  比较关系： similarly; in like manner, in comparison with；when compared with；compared with；when in fact...; like...； likewise； similarly  6)  顺序关系：first; second; thirdly; next; then; afterward; after this; subsequently; lastly; finally; consequently; before this; previously . 7)  时间关系：at once; immediately; at length; in the mean time; meanwhile; at the same time; in the end; then; soon; not long after; later; at once; at last; finally; some time ago; at present; all of a sudden; from this  历年四级阅读长难句100 1.
