Teaching Procedure
Step 1: Warm-up
1. Greetings
--Good morning, class.
--Good morning,teacher. How are you? --Fine, thanks. And you?
--I’m OK.
--What’s this in English?
--It’s a pen/cup/dictionary.
--Is this yours?
--Yes, it is./No, it isn’t. It’s ___’s
--(Show your own pen)This is my pen. I have a pen. Do you have a pen?
--(With the help of the teacher) Yes, I do./ No, I don’t(do not)
--Good, and today we’ll talk about what we have. 2.Check the homework of the last class. Step 2: Presentation
1. Present new words (with pictures) Show the pictures of balls such as basketball, soccer ball, volleyball,
baseball, tennis, ping-pong bat one by one.

--Read after me. I have a _____
--Spell it.--B-A-C-K-E-T-B-A-L-L
--Do you have a _____. --Yes, I do./ No, I don’t
(Soccer ball, tennis ball, ping pong ball, volleyball, basketball, bat) Ask the students to read aloud the new words on Page 25-26 by themselves. Then have a reading competition between boys and girls. 2. Activity 1a
T: First, you need to look at the pictures carefully so that you can see what things there are in it.
Then read the new words from one to six, and match the words with things in the pictures. Finally, check the answers.
3. Activity 1b
T: Now we will listen to the recording.
The first time, you have to listen carefully and circle the right words. The second time.check your answers.
The third time, correct mistakes if any.
4. Activity 1c
Ask the students to read through the conversation silently. Invite two students to explain its meaning. Then ask students to repeat. Explain some language points:
1) Do you have a baseball?--Yes,I do./No,I don’t.
2) Do you have a ping-pong bat?--Yes,I do./No,I don’t.
3) Does he/she have a tennis ball?--Yes, he/she does./No, he/she doesn’t.
Step 3: Practice
1. Activity 2a.
Firstly look through the pictures, and then play the tape. The first time,listen and pay attention to the pronunciation. The second time, number the pictures.
The third time, check the answers.
2. Activity 2b
Ask the students to look at the balls, and speak out the names of each balls.
Play the tape again, and ask the students to match the pictures in 2b with the balls.
3. Activity 2c
Read through the sample conversation in 2c. Make new dialogues to ask and answer like this conversation. Work in pairs to role play. As they work, move around the room, checking progress and offering help as need.
Step 4. Summary
In this period, we’ve learned the use of have and known how to talk about
the ownership of things.
Step 5. Homework
1. Copy the words and recite them.
2. Read the conversation in 2d again and again.
3. Preview the next period.
