一 For this part, you are allowed 30minutes to write a short essay based on the picture below. You should start your essay with a brief account of the impact of the Internet on learning and then explain why education does not simply mean learning to obtain information. You should write at least 120 words but no more than 180 words. As the cartoon portrayed above,a vivid description that a student is asking the teacher: whether to know how to use Google is all the education he needs , no one in China has failed to notice the impact of the Internet on learning. The issue is so widespread that it has not only come into the educator’s vision, but also gained increasing attention from the public. In modern society , it has become a tendency for individuals to hold the thought that obtaining information is equivalent to education. However, education is not merely an accumulation of knowledge, but a way of critical thinking and practical skills. For one thing, critical thinking is essential to scientific progress, resulting in innovation and technical advances. Just as Confucius reminds us, “ Learning without thinking leads to confusion. For another thing, only by practice is knowledge possible to be applied to achieve its social value. Admittedly, the Internet does provide a multitude of information for learners, but folks should be deeply conscious of the essence of education and attach importance to cultivating the character and enhancing the ability. Consequently, with elegant character, strong ability as well as abundant information, education endows a life its value and meaning. 二 Write a short essay based on the picture below. You should start your essay with a brief account of the impact of the Internet on the way people communicate and then explain whether electronic communication can replace face-to-face communication. You should write at least120 words but no more than 180 words. As the cartoon portrayed above, a vivid description that the parents interact with their children through the Internet even if there is a distance of a floor, no one in China has failed to notice the impact of the Internet on the way people communicate. The issue is so widespread that it has not only come into the educator’s vision, but also gained increasing attention from the public. In modern society , it has become a tendency for adolescents to view the Internet as a unique means to communicate. However , as far as I am concerned ,although the Internet has changed the ways of communication, it is not possible that it will replace face-to-face contact. First and foremost , in contrast to a virtual word, face-to-face communication enables us to catch sight of the genuine expression and body language. Besides, it empowers people to concentrate on what they are talking about and not to be distracted easily. Last but not least , face-to-face public speaking is more encouraging and inspiring compared with a person addressing on the screen. Admittedly, the Internet does provide a multitude of convenience for individuals, but folks should be deeply conscious of the significant of face-to-face contact and attach importance to cultivating the skills of speech and enhancing the ability of intercourse. Consequently, communication endows a life reality, kindness and love. For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay commenting on the remark “The greatest use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it”. You can give examples to illustrate your point and then explain what you will do to make your life more meaningful. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words. Whether in the past or present, human beings constantly have the sense of urgency that life is so transient that it just passes away in a blink of an eye. As a result, to make full use of life, we should spend it for something that will outlast it. Conversely, what are those things that can survive our limited lives? From my perspective, they are the consideration ,contribution and love for the external world, such as science, culture and charitable affairs. Nelson Mandela, for example , devoted his whole life to democracy, equality in South Africa. Due to his fight for the racial discrimination, Mandela spent 27 years in prison, but his spirit has been an inspiration throughout the world and in 1993, he was rewarded the Nobel Peace Prize. For another instance, Steve Jobs , a magician who perfectly combined technology with art , invented a series of digital products for which consumers of the whole world are crazily seeking. In 2005, he addressed in Stanford University: Your time is limited, so do not wasted in living in someone else’s life. His short life also interprets the meaning of life that is not blown away with the wind but becomes immortal in everyone’s memory. As a consequence, the meaning of a life does not depend on the length of it, but the depth of it. It is advisable for us to discover something that we are enthusiastic about and that is beneficial for others. Only in this way can we lead a meaningful life. For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay on happiness by referring to the saying “Happiness is not the absence of problems, but the ability to deal with them”. You can cite examples to illustrate your point and then explain how you can develop your ability to deal with problems and be happy. You should write at least150 words but no more than 200 words. Whether in the past or present, individuals constantly have a great variety of definitions of happiness. But an inspiring idea goes that happiness is not the absence of problems, but the ability to deal with them, which reveals the nature of happiness. As a result, only when we show great courage to confront problems and develop the capacity to solve them will happiness be achieved . Conversely, what are those characters and habits that can solve problems? From my perspective, they are diligence, perseverance and aspiration for success. For another instance, Steve Jobs was abandoned by his biological parents and dropped out of the university but still managed to change the world. Named as a magician who perfectly combined technology with art ,his corporation invented a series of digital products for which consumers of the whole world are crazily seeking. As a consequence, it is of great necessity to equip ourselves with the capability to cope with problems. To be more specific, we need to be persistent , decisive and cooperative. Only when are proficient in dealing with problems can we fully enjoy the happiness and lead a meaningful life.
