高中英语教案4第四课题:AMaterialWorld M4 Unit10 Lesson1 < A Material World> 1. Teaching aims (1).knowledge objects & Ability objec ts 1).knowledge: Vocabulary: determine, enjoyable, hardworking, aware, concern, dormitory, pleased, drunk Phrase: give away, give up, drop out, go back Grammar: To review and practice using countable and uncountable nouns and the use of determiners: all, none, both, neither, another, other.to practice students’expressing ability 2).Ability : Listening skills: understand what the teacher's saying and listen to the type record. Reading skills: To read a text to find out specific facts Speaking skills: use the new expressions to make sentences Writing skills: write a short passage about theinterview with Charles Gray and using new expressions learned. (2) process & steps First step is lead-in. Then , we will approach to the reading and listening skills objectives and speaking skills objectives. Afterwards, we will met the knowledge objectives and emotion objectives; At last, is for consolidation of new knowledge and practice students’ writing skills. (3).Emotion attitude & values Do you think money makes you happy?Are there more important things in life? To lead students build up correct attitude towards money At the end of the lesson, the students can be able to grape some language points and reading skills, as well as some cultural knowledge and positive life guides. 2. (5) Activity-based teaching (individual work; pair work): Individual work: give a short and brief talk about certain topics. Pair work: two students do the role play or finish a reading task. 3.Teaching keys and difficulties To review and practice using countable and uncountable nouns and the use of determiners: all, none, both, neither, another, other. 4. Teaching aids multi-media(computer ,overhead projector, PPT) ,tape-recorder, blackboard 5. Course number I will finish this lesson in 3 classes. This is the reading class. 6. Teaching procedures Step1 Greet:ings Revision and smoothly start the new lesson (2 minutes). Step2 Lead-in: Listen to a song played on the computer. T: Would you like to be a millionaire? Why or why not (show some pictures) S: T: What can money buy? S: T: Whatcan’tmoney buy? S: T: money can make you get something you need. In material world, money is important but remember money is not everything many evils come from greed for money. Not all people care about money for example“Whowants to be a Millionaire? Idon’t”saysCharles Gray and tell students the background Introduce Charles Gray and Angus Deayton , information with the picture show on the PPT. Why does Charles Gray say so? Step3 While-readi ng: Skim(Fast-reading): General understanding. (10minutes) Let students tell me the main idea of this article ,and translate the first sentence of first paragraph. 1. Read the article quickly. Decide if the statements below are true (T), false (F) or there is no information (NI) 1. Charles Gray was a rich businessman.(F) 2. Hehasn’tgotastove in his dormitory.(NI) 3. He has got a vegetable garden. (T) 4. Charles gave his money away to poor people. (T) 5. People thought he was drunk when he gave away small bank notes in the street. (NI) 6. He was happier when he was rich. (F) Scan(Detailed reading): Look for the information needed . The ability to get detailed information. (10minutes) Read the text aloud then answer the questions 1. What was Charles’ life like in the past? 2. Why didn’t Charles want to be a rich man? 3. How did he deal with his money? 4 How about his life now? 5. How does he feel now? good or bad? Step4Expla in difficult sentences and use of new phrases under the help of some teaching equipments.(1minutes) . Talk about new words, new sentences, new grammar, difficult sentences Do exercise 3 ,5 Step5 Post- reading: (10minutes) Do the role play :work in pairs to make a interview and imagine what was in Charles Gray’s old home and is in his dormitory now. Choose one student to play the role of Charles Gray,and choose another one to play Angus Deayton. Talk about it using the vocabulary on the page9 to help you . Step6 Summary of the lesso, Mentin on the emotional objects and play the song ..(5minutes) Step7 Homework(1minute), say bye, have a nice day! (1).Do exercise 6、7 on the page 9 in the text book. This is used to make the students have a further understanding of new words and new grammars. (2).preview the next lesson < the right price> 8.
