Which side do you take if you face the same situation? Work at the office or stay home with the kids? This is a question that many parents face. Here are a few ideas to consider as you decide what is best for you and your family. What do you need to be happy? Would you benefit from “adult” time away from your children each day? Or is it your dream to spend every possible moment with your kids? How you manage your career and your family is a very personal decision. Think about what you really want. If you make a decision you’re not happy with, you’ll regret it. Discuss the decision with all family members. Your choice will affect everyone in your home, so listen to everyone’s needs and wants.TA-Text-2TA-Text-2Text AFinances, of course, will also be part of your decision. Can your family afford for you to quit your job? Would you be okay with a smaller house or an older car if it meant you could stay home with your kids? Also, think about a compromise. It’s becoming common for people with full-time jobs to work from home a few days a week. Consider working part-time or even starting a small business out of your home to be with your children more. No matter what choice you make, reevaluate your decision periodically. As your family’s needs change, your work situation might change, too.quitquitquitv. 1. leave a job, school, etc, especially without finishing it completely 离开,辞职 ◆ He quitted school at the age of 15. ◆ I want to quit my present job because it is too boring. 2. stop doing something, especially something that is bad or annoying 放弃,撇开 ◆ He’s been given six months to live if he doesn’t quit drinking. ◆ The majority of smokers say that they would like to quit the habit.◆ periodically◆ periodically◆ periodicallyadv. happening a number of times, usually at regular times 周期性地,定时性地 ◆ New strains (动植物的)品种of viruses appear periodically. ◆ The students helped the poor periodically.benefit frombenefit frombenefit from从…获益 ◆ Who is the most likely to benefit from the old lady’s death? ◆ We have benefited from the new way of management.TA-Comprehension CheckTA-Comprehension CheckComprehension CheckCircle the letter that best completes each sentence.1.
