Step2 Presentation
1.Have students read the sentences they have found out 2 Explain the difficult sentences one by one. Step 2: Practice
1. Listen to the text and answer questions for more details (1) How much do the new cards cost?
(2)How much do the last year?s cards cost?
(3)How much do the stickers cost?
(4)How much money does Amy have?
(5)How much are the hair clips?
(6)Can she buy a CD for Sandy?
2. Have students read the text once again and finish B1 3.Finish Part C.
Step 3: Production
1 Make a similar dialogue about going shopping below Shopkeeper: Good morning. What can I do for you? Sandy: I?d like to buy a sweater.
Shopkeeper: What size do you want?
Sandy: I am size six.
Shopkeeper: What colour do you like?
Sandy: I like dark yellow.
Shopkeeper: What about this one?
Sandy: OK. May I try them on?
Shopkeeper: Yes, of course.
Sandy: It fits me well. How much does it cost? Shopkeeper: ,200.
Mrs. Li: Oh. That?s too expensive. Do you have a cheaper one?
Shopkeeper: Yes. Please have a look at these sweaters. They are nice too.
Mrs.Li : How much is this one?
Shopkeeper: It is only , 100.
Mrs. Li : How about this one ,Sandy?
Sandy: It is nice. I will take it. 2 Have students read out the dialogue

Task ?Check out the students homework. How to form the „-ing? form of a verb.
Most verbs +ing walk Verbs ending in e -e+ing come
Verbs ending in ie -ie+y+ing lie
Short verbs ending in a Double the consonant +ing run vowel + a consonant
Task ? Learn by themselves.
1. Tell the students to go through the tables on Page 80. Ask them to
sum up the structures of present continuous tense: “be + V-ing”.
2. Ask them to finish the exercises of Part A.
3. Let them check the answers.
Task ? Discussion.
Let the students read the sentences and find out what they don?t
understand and ask them to discuss what they don?t understand with
each other.
Task ? Explanation.
Explain what they don’t understand after they discuss. Task ? Practice.
Give the students some pictures. Ask them to make sentences with the
present continuous tense.
Task ?
Let the students go through the table on Page 81. The steps as above. Do
some exercises. ( on the screen)
Check the answers and explain the difficulties to the students.
