Admit the mistakes and learn from them To err is human is a well-known saying in many countries. In other words, making mistakes is common to people. However, when we mention mistakes, most people regard it as a harmful term. They think that is shameful and refuse to correct mistakes. Today, what I would like to discuss with you is a simple question: Why can't we admit our mistakes and learn from them?
We are taught in school, in our families, or at work to feel guilty about mistakes and to do whatever we can to avoid mistakes. But mistakes are just like tigers. A man fears the tiger that beat him last instead of the tiger that will bite him next.Wise people admit their mistakes frankly. They know progress accelerates what they do.
But some people are afraid of mistakes, so they refuse to correct them. Just like the math tests in school, I thought it was a terrible thing in the past. So I just complained about it and did nothing. Luckily, with the help of teachers , I tried to face them and correct them. It seems that the same mistakes didn't reoccur. So, learning from the mistakes in the tests so as to improve is better than ignoring them and complaining about our shortcomings.
It’s not only in school where mistakes can be useful. We live in a social world and we all have different ideas. As a result we often make mistakes when we communicate with others in daily life. These can be simple things, just like my friend and I. We often have arguments, but we always stay calm and try to find the mistakes between us so that we can continue the topic. Unfortunately, the bigger the mistakes and the more people involved, the more difficult it becomes to sort things out. The history of unresolved mistakes is the history of war around the world. It is important in such situations to remember the lessons we learned as children with our friends: to sort out mistakes calmly so that the dialogue can continue. Mistakes are tools in life. We need to find them and correct them in time. Luckily, not all mistakes are very serious. But it is just as important to learn from them. I would like to share with you a story. When I was young, once I saw some potatoes with buds on the balcony. Although the potatoes seemed strange, I was so hungry that I stir-fried the potatoes. Then I ate them. Of course you can guess what happened next. I suffered from diarrhea and had a bad stomach ache! After that, I learnt that the potatoes with buds can not be eaten.
It is necessary to admit mistakes in all areas of our lives. As the old saying goes, stand up from the place where you fall down. The only real mistake is the failure to learn from your mistakes. So, do not be afraid of mistakes. Just admit it and learn from them!
