OSHA’s Hazards Communication standard as it applies to laboratories requires that labels be kept on containers that are received labeled, that MSDSs that are received be maintained and employees be given access to them, and that employees must be provided both information and training regarding the hazards of chemicals found in the laboratory. When shipping or transferring a chemical out of the laboratory, a laboratory is considered a chemical manufacturer or distributor and, therefore, must evaluate the chemical’s hazards, label the containers, and provide MSDSs if the chemical is determined to be hazardous. 将化学品运出/转移出实验室时,实验室被认为是化学品的制造者或分销商,因而必须评估化学品的危害,标识所用容器,若该化学品被认为是有害的则需提供相应的MSDS. 2.3Material Labeling and Identification 材料标识和识别 Each container of hazardous chemical(s) in the workplace is to be labeled, tagged, or marked with the identity of the hazardous chemical(s) and have appropriate hazard warnings or, alternatively, words, pictures, or symbols that provide at least general information regarding the hazards of the chemicals and provide information regarding the physical and health hazards of the chemicals. The identity of the chemical can be a chemical name, common name, code name, code number, or trade name. 工作场所内每个装有有害化学品的容器必须标识,挂签或有有害化学品的特性标记和适当的危害警告或者是语句,图形或符号来提供最起码的关于该化学品的危害信息和物理及健康危害的信息.化学品的特性标记可以是化学品名,通用名,代码名,代码号或商品名. Each container of hazardous chemicals leaving the workplace is to be labeled, tagged, or marked with the following information: 每个装有有害化学品的容器离开工作场所时必须标识,挂签或标有下列信息: ? Labels on incoming containers shall not be removed or defaced unless the container is immediately marked with the required information.
