雾都孤儿论文提纲 Thesis Outline I Abstract a. Most people think Fagin is a evil old man while I think the most evil person also has kindness. To demonstrate it , I find out many points and analyse him from two aspects. b. Fagin, an old Jewish man created by Charles Dickens, is regarded as a instigator to abuse children while I think he is also an old man to take good care of children even a victim of anti-semitism. This paper talks about him from two aspects. c. To make it clear of Fagin’characteristics, I choose the comparative method to analyse this paper. thd. Fagin is the reflection of 19 century in England society and the most evil has kindness. This paper is to sing praise of human kindness in the dark age and criticize the corruption society. II Introduction Fagin ,chief of thief, is regarded as evil as Satan in most readers’ eyes while nobody is perfect and we should look at different aspects before making conclusion. In the novel of Oliver Twist ,he take good care of children and give much more warm to them in that society. a. Gilbert, Keith Chesterton has done research about this topic at first. Appreciations and Criticism of the works of Charles Dickens(1991). Recently, many people also have already done much more research about Charles Dickens and his works. For example ,George, Gissing has written the Parentage and Inheritance in the novel of Charles Dickens(1990). b. Although the foreign country has already begun to research this topic, I think it is still necessary to do much more research about this topic. Only we do more research can we get familiar with Charles and his works. We should pay much attention to the topic because most readers just know the appearance of Fagin. We should look at him from two aspects. c. Oliver Twist was begun in February 1837 and continued ad monthly installments in Bentley Miscellany until April of 1839. Dickens originally titled the novel Oliver Twist: The Parish Boy Progress but it has since been shorten to simply Oliver Twist. Dickens finished writing the novel in the London of 1838 and first edition of the novel was found on shelves in November of 1838.The themes that appear within the text are the delineation between good and evil ,the hypocritical attitude an behaviors of public institutions. Charles uses mistaken identities and familial ties to create a story. d. While most readers think that Fagin is such a hooligan, old bastard and a typical representative of abhorrent Jew, he is also a good man to take good care of children. III Methodology a. To do my research , I first read the book of Oliver Twist from beginning to the end and then watched the movie Oliver Twist. To get much more information, I looked up many critic books and found out their common points. To make the research meaningful ,comparative method is used in this paper. b. Doing research itself is a kind of hard work .To get much more information I have to read many books about this topic. Only comparative method can the main characteristic of Fagin be showed completely.. IV Body a. The kind aspect of Fagin i. taking care of children’ life ii. teaching children skills for live iii. paying much attention to children’ psychology b. The evil aspect of Fagin. i .trying every means to achieve his own desire ii. instilling evil idea into children’ mind iii. abetting children to steal something c. The language and main ideas is easy to readers and the written skills used in the book are also simple to others .The writer talks about the life of Charles Dickens objectively and we are able to know why Dickens writes this kind of gloomy story. It may be related to his own experience. The character of his novels is just himself. [2]Gissing, George. The writer claims that many things happened in Oliver Twist are related to parentage and inheritance in England society. He thinks there is the deep opinion of classes.. In my opinion, it may be subjective .To some extent ,it is acceptable. The paper I written is also to sing praise of human kinds and to critic the cooperation of England society. The writer analyses her characteristics from two aspects .I also analyses Fagin from two aspects. Nancy has many commons with Fagin and they are both victim of that society. oth of them have two sides of life. Generally speaking, this book talks about how to critic something in Oliver Twist. In this book ,the writer points out many different points about the works of Dickens. It talk about from the mentally to physically and covers all aspects of life. The writer must have done much more research about this topic. The reason why I choose this book is his main idea is similar with mine. Both of us are able to realize the two sides of things.
