研究生学位考试历届英语作文范文 Interest Is the Best Teacher there is a saying says"interest is the best teacher". it also means that you will learn better if you are interested in it. it's a matter of fact. i will give you my opinions in the following . let's have a clear definition of interest. what is interest? interest means hobby. life will be boring and dreary if one lives a life without any hobby. hardly anyone is a man without any interest. for instance, some ones like singing, some like painting, some like playing games, some like handwriting ,etc. no matter what his hobby is ,he must devote himself into this field because he likes it. for example , i was very interested in hard nib calligraphy when i was a teenager. my idlo was PangZhonghua at that time. i admired his handwriting very much and i regarded his works as works of arts. i began my trainning of hard nib calligraphy . i was so addicted in it that i was not willing to do other things even though it's time for meals or go to bed. owing to my interest and hard training, my hard nib calligraphy made a great process after a period of time. from then, our teachers began let me help them write some articles. i was one of the three best students on hard nib calligraphy before i graduated from my senior high school. when i was at grade six, i was not good at english especially on grammar, i often felt shamed while my english teacher asked me to answer some questions about grammer. once by accident, i got an english grammar book form my sister. i read some lines and found it was so easy with a bit of funs and techniques in it. then i read the grammar book as long as i was free. some weeks later, my english was improved to be the No.2 of our class and among the top three in our school. there is another example of my own. it's no need to detail it here.. in a whole, if you have a interest on something, do it and persist it to the end until you succeed in it. The importance of extensive reading in learning English With the development of modern society and globalization, English has become more and more importance. Nowadays, it is widely acknowledged that extensive reading is both significant and beneficial to the learning of English and personal growth of young people. As to me, reading largely brings me more joy and the ability of using English. English has in fact become the language of international cooperation in science and technology. Extensive reading is good for the English learning and the accumulation of professional knowledge, thus we can be easy in closer touch with the scientists and experts in other countries than one who doesn?t. What?s more, extensive reading can help us know the background and cultural of the English-speaking people such as USA and UK better, thus it is easier for us to know the meaning of sentences and the thoughts of the authors. Finally and most importantly, reading more can help us improve our oral English by the way of helping us accumulating vocabulary and sentences. Failure is the Mother of Success I think everyone will agree with this opinion of “Failure is the Mother of Success.” No matter in study or work, failure is everywhere. For examples, in examination one difficult test question will make us crazy and feel frustrated. After study, we will know how to solve it and become confident. When we stepped from collage to a business company, we even didn?t understand how to use the Fax machine. We always face with different failures and they seem to inescapable. Failures will ask us for attention and let us to try to find the way to escape them in the future. That?s the core meaning of the subject. Although, this is not a hard and fast rule and exceptions are always there. But for the majority, as the education levels go up, the salaries also go higher and vice versa. As opposed to generations of the past, high school graduates today are unable to obtain the number of high-paying jobs that were once available. The world has been transformed from a manufacturing-based economy to an economy based on knowledge, and the importance of a college education today can be compared to that of a high school education forty years ago. It serves as the gateway to better options and more opportunity, and provides college graduates with an edge in the job market over those who have not experienced a higher education. Perhaps, the most important benefit of college education is that it gives the person access to a better life in his later years. Last but not least, it benefits us by making a good society. People who have been to college, in other words are well educated, raise better families, and are the ideal employees as well as ideal citizens of the society. Well educated people are peace loving and tend to follow the rules and norms of the society, more than the lesser educated or the uneducated ones. So, a society where majority of people have higher education, runs very efficiently and smoothly. As you can see, the importance of college education is immense, both for the individual as well as the society. Besides, college life can be lots of fun too. After a certain age, we all get into the mode of a set life, alternating between working and taking care of our families. That life can wait. A teen should utilize four years of his college in learning, gaining experience, becoming a better person and also enjoying life.
