Step 1. Warm-up
1. Free talking :--- What’s the weather like today ?
--- What was the weather like yesterday ?
--- What day is it today ?
--- What day was it yesterday? (Ask and answer more)
2. Review the past forms of the regular and irregular verbs.
3. Do an exercise about filling the blanks with the words given.

1. Show the past time phrases given in the box.
Have the students grasp the using of the phrases
常与一般过去时态连用的时间有:
1.yesterday
yesterday morning (afternoon, evening…)
the day before yesterday(前天)
the year before last (前年)
2.last night (week, month, year, summer,…)
3.时间段+ago (two days ago, a week ago,…)
4. in 1990, (in 1998, in 2003…)
5. this morning
6. just now = a moment ago (刚才)
2.Show some verb phrases and time phrases. Students say and the teacher writes them on the blackboard.
