高三英语试卷(奉贤)201011keys 2010学年奉贤区调研测试高三英语试卷 参考答案 录音文字 ?. Listening Comprehension Section A Directions: In Section A, you will hear ten short conversations between two speakers. At the end of each conversation, a question will be asked about what was said. The conversations and the questions will be spoken only once. After you hear a conversation and the question about it, read the four possible answers on your paper, and decide which one is the best answer to the question you have heard. 1. W: Oh, that's too bad. It's out of order again. M: Sorry, Madam. But you have to walk up the stairs today. Q: What are the speakers probably talking about? (D) 2. M: Congratulations, Mary. I heard you won the first prize at the speech contest. W: There must be another Mary. I wasn't there. Q: What does the woman mean? (C) 3. W: What did you think of yesterday's film? M: Well, I left when the film was only half way through. Q: What was the film like according to the man? (D) 4. W: Jenny is quiet, but her sister is not very polite. M: She is much too talkative. Q: What do you think of Jenny’s sister? (C) 5. W: How is everything going on? I see you hurry up and down all the time. M: My mother is in hospital and I have to see her three times a day. Q: How often does the man see his mother? (A) 6. W: Hi, Mike. Are you still interested in photography? M: Yes, and I've done a lot of new things recently. Q: What is the man's hobby? (A) 7. M: What's the weather like today? W: It's a beautiful spring day. It would be good for you to spend a day in the sun. Q: How is the weather? (A) 8. M: Good-bye, Mary. Nice meeting you. W: Good-bye, Mike. Don't forget our English lesson on Wednesday. Q: What are the two speakers going to do on Wednesday? (B) 9. W: Why can't I enter the competition? M: Because you're too old. The age limit is forty. Q: How old might the lady be? (C) 10. W: Look at my dress! It's ruined. M: I’m sorry, Miss. Q: How does the woman feel? (C) Section B Directions: In Section B, you will hear two short passages, and you will be asked three questions on each of the passages. The passages will be read twice, but the questions will be spoken only once. When you hear a question, read the four possible answers on your paper and decide which one would be the best answer to the question you have heard. Questions 11 and 13 are based on the following passage. Five hundred years ago people usually lived to be about forty years old. Now, in many countries, people can easily be seventy years old. We are living longer because we're healthier and much fitter. Also, we live in better, cleaner houses and homes. People will be living longer and also we will be getting taller in the future too. We are much better now than we used to be in the past. As we go into the future, people will be even taller. Imagine a day when most adults will be about 2 meters tall! That time will probably come. Today, athletes in the Olympic Games can run mush faster than the athletes of 50 years ago. We’re faster, fitter, healthier and we’re probably cleverer, too. However, humans can’t live for ever because parts of the body, like the heart and the eyes, get older and they don’t work properly after the age of 85. What is most important, though, is to have a healthy life. It’s no good living longer if your life is full of health problems. In my opinion it’s better not to live so long, but to live healthily and happily. Questions: 11. Five hundred years ago, how old did people usually live? (B) 12. Which of the following is true according to the passage? (D) 13. Why can’t human live for ever? (C) Questions 14 through 16 are based on the following news. Malta will keep surprising me for a long, long time. Although I had heard wonderful things about it, I didn’t realize just how magical it could be. Throughout history, sailors who arrived at Malta’s ports always loved the natural harbors. Today, Malta continues to welcome visitors who enjoy experiencing its special sights, sounds and flavors. Many Maltese resorts have become popular with English language learners. Students have been going there in recent years for English courses in the sun. If you do a part-time course, you’ll still have plenty of time to enjoy a holiday. Don’t forget to visit as many beaches as you can—they’re some of the finest in the Mediterranean. Malta also has many sights that are truly worth seeing. Don’t leave without tasting the traditional cuisine. Maltese food is a delightful mixture of different styles and offers plenty of seafood. After dark, watch the towns come to life as many people sit outdoors and enjoy the cooler evening temperatures. Questions: 14. Who often visited Malta in history? (C) 15. Which of the following is Not Malta’s special sights and flavors? (D) 16. What’s the speaker’s impression about Malta in general? (B) Section C Directions: In Section C, you will hear two longer conversations. The conversations will be read twice. After you hear each conversation, you are required to fill in the numbered blanks with the information you have heard. Write your answers on your answer sheet. Blanks 17 through 20 are based on the following conversation. M: Excuse me. Can you help me with my application, please? W: Yes, of course. You want to join the new sports club, do you? M: Yes, I do. W: Good, OK then. Well, you can write your name and address, can’t you? M: Of course. Name: Tim Goodman… T-i-m G-o-o-d-m-a-n. Address: Fourteen Brook Road, 2 Coxwell. It’s just round the corner. W: Well, you won’t have a very long way to come on club nights then. M: No, I won’t, will I? My phone number… It’s six-double nine-three-one-four-five and my date of birth is the tenth of March, 1988. W: So, how old are you, Tim? M: I’m ten, nearly eleven, actually. W: I see. Right, what sports can you do? Just write the names of them here. M: Well, there’s football, and swimming, cycling, and I’m all right at table tennis, too. W: What sports do you want to learn here? M: Mmm, I don’t know really. W: Well, write that down then. And the last question, which sport are you best at? Do you play for any other clubs? M: Yes, football. I’ve played football for the school under thirteens team for nearly a year now. W: That’s great. If you’re good enough for the school team, you’ll be good enough for our team I’m sure. Blanks 21 through 24 are based on the following conversation. W: Yes, and the weather is different here. M: Do you like it more here? W: Well, London can be warm and sunny in the summer. But in winter it can be very cold and rainy. M: How do you travel to work? W: Usually I go by underground; it’s quicker than the buses. But the tickets are more expensive than in Athens. M: Is life in London expensive? W: Well, supermarkets aren’t very expensive, but restaurants are very expensive. English people don’t eat in restaurants as much as Greeks. M: Are English people very different from Greek people? W: Yes, in some ways. M: How about friends? W: The people I work with are very nice. I’ve got some good friends in London. We often go out together. M: Where? W: Sometimes we go to a pub for a drink. And last Saturday it was my birthday. M: Oh! Happy birthday for last Saturday. W: Thank you. It was my birthday so we went to an Indian restaurant. It was lovely! M: Mmm,… I. Listening 1—5 DCDCA 6—10 AABCC 11—13 BDC 14—16 CDB 17. Goodman 18. 6993145 19. March 20.
