李权江西业余一班Recently, the government has formally legalised online car-hailing services, which attracts a widespread concern among people. Some people express a warm welcome to this new policy, while others hold the opposite attitude. Personally, I am the determined supporter of the new-born online car-hailing business, because, as far as I can see, its benefits far outweigh the disadvantages.
To begin with, the car-hailing services and their related sectors create thousands of jobs in employment market, and the number of the vacancies is still in a rapid increase. The statistics, released in Economy, Washington Post dated on April 14th, 2018, showed that Uber was creating more than 100,000 opportunities every month in China in the past year. Moreover, the online car-hailing services make our commuting and excursion more convenient, inexpensive and even simpler than before. Using an application, such as Wechat or Didi, people can take a private car contracted to online car-hailing services and go almost anywhere at anytime with a relatively low price. In addition, with more drivers starting to share their private cars, the frequencies of traffic jams in major cities have declined significantly, and the environment around us seems to become cleaner and better.
It is important to turn to the other side of the thing, however, problems exist and remain to be solved concerning the online car-hailing services. For example, because of the loose check of drivers contracted to online car-hailing services, the personal safety issues now and then hit the headlines, and personal information of passengers can’t be protected well.
From an overall and long-term perspective, many disadvantages of online car-hailing can be overcome in the near future, and the online car-hailing services will play vital roles in our daily life. Therefore, I am looking forward to witnessing these changes.
