Step 1:Revision. Make a dialogue like this:

Step 2: Presentation.
1 In this unit, we have learnt much about homes in different countries.
Are your homes in China like the homes in other countries?
2 Talk about your own homes in pairs or in groups of four.
What kind of home do you live in?
Do you live in a house or a flat?
How many floors are there in your house?
How many rooms do you have in your home?
What are they?
Do you have a garden?
How many people live in your home?
What do you have at home?
Step 3: Survey.
1 Ask and answer in pairs. Complete the questionnaire in Part A1 on page 16.
2 Give out a piece of paper to each student. Finish a survey about their dream home according to the questions on the blackboard.
What kind of home would you like to live in?
How many rooms do you want to have in your dream home?
What are the rooms?
Do you want to have a garden?
How many people will live in your dream home?
What do you want to have in your dream home?
What do you want to do in it?
3 Get some students to report their dream homes.
Step 4:Reading.
1 Everyone has his or her dream home. So does Simon. Let’s read Simon’s article about his dream home. Please tell me about how many rooms there are in Simon’s dream home.
2 Have the students read the article and answer it.
There are ten rooms in it.
3 Play the tape for the students to listen and answer more questions:
⑴ Is Simon’s dream home very large?
⑵ Where is it?
⑶ How many floors does it have?
⑷ What’s on every floor?
⑸ Is there a swimming pool in his dream home?
⑹ Is there a home cinema in his dream home?
⑺ What can he do there?
⑻Why does Simon want to have two large rooms on the second floor?
Step 5:Writing.
1 Let the students write something about their dream homes with the useful expressions on page 16.
2 Show some good articles to the whole class. Correct the mistakes.
3 After class, let them check each other’s articles.
Step 6:Homework.
1 Recite the article about Simon’s dream home.
2 Finish an article ---- My dream home
Encourage them to speak aloudly.
I will help them if they need.
