1. Relative administrative authority
a. Evaluation: SFDA
b. Test: Nutrition and food safety institute, Chinese CDC
c. Re-test: it all depends, but maybe institute for drug quality control
2. Procedure and schedule
a. Carry out the tests in Nutrition and food safety institute, Chinese CDC, there are six tests need to be done depending on the function claimed: safety and toxicity test; function test; active ingredient test; microbial test; stability test, excitants test. Time needed: 3-10 months
b. Prepare required documents and samples.
c. Submit application documents and evaluated by SFDA. Time needed: 4 months (80 working days). Submit samples and tested by relative institute based on quality specification.
3. Award certificate (validity for 5 years) or be rejected
4. Cost: RMB 50,000~340,000.
