One evening Tom was sitting in a concert hall with his uncle. They were listening to the beautiful music.

“Yes.”

4. It is Out Too.
One cold day, a friend of the Brown’s went to visit them. The maid(女仆) stopped him at the door. The friend asked, “ Is Mr. Brown at home?” “No, he has gone out.” replied the maid.
“Is Mrs. Brown at home, then?”
“No, she has gone out.”
“May I come in and sit by the stove(火炉)?”
“No, it has gone out, too.”
(词组be out或go out指人时，意为“不在家，外出”；而用于指火、灯、炉子等时，意为“灭、熄灭”。此处仆人对来客持不欢迎的态度，且有些不耐烦，故连用了三个be/go out回答客人的提问。)
