Speaking --SEFC Book1A Art & Literature Good morning, teachers, It’s my great pleasure to have this opportunity to be here sharing my lesson with you. The content of my lesson is speaking taken from Senior English for China Book1A Unit12 Art & literature. I’ll be ready to begin this lesson from three parts, my understanding of this lesson, my teaching theories、methods and aids, my teaching procedures. First, let me talk about my understanding of this lesson. Part 1 My understanding of this lesson The Analysis of the teaching material The part of speaking has designed two different situations—one is Invite friends to see the film and the other is Know about the Festival. At the same time, some necessary information and relevant question have been provided for the above situation. The aim of this part is to teach the Ss how to invite the friend in English by telephone, how to inquire or answer the question related to activity arrangement. Teaching Aims: 1. To teach the Ss how to invite the friend in English by telephone, how to inquire or answer the question related to activity arrangement. 2. To improve the Ss’ ability of speaking Teaching Important Points: How to communicate with the others and get some information by telephone Teaching Difficult Point: How to help the Ss finish each task and improve their skills to use language. Part 2 My teaching theories, methods and aids In my opinion, the main instructional aims of learning English in the Middle School is to develop the students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading, writing and their good sense of the English language. Therefore, according to the modern social communication teaching theories(现代社会交际教学理论), I’ll mainly adopt the three following teaching methods. Teaching Methods: 1. Cooperative teaching Approach. 2. Communicative Approach. 3. Situation Approach. Teaching Aids: 1. The role cards  2.The blackboard Part 3 Teaching procedures In order to achieve my teaching aims and help my Ss to improve their ability of speaking, I have designed the three teaching steps. The entire steps are: Review, Practice in pairs with the role cards and Extension. Step 1 Review Considering that the oral task of this lesson is to ask for and give some information by phone, I will start my lesson with reviewing some phone language. Reference: What do you often say        when you are making the call                                   When you are receive the call                                   If you want to get some information Step 2 Practice in pairs with the role cards First, I will make the situation1 & the situation2 at page79 into the role card. Next, ask the Ss to work in pairs according to the role card. Finally, the Ss will use the role card to ask for and give information by each other. Step 3 Extension In this step, I will tell the Ss to work in groups. Ask the Ss to prepare some role cards for a group discussion. Each role card should include the following information: who the person is, where he wants to go, when and why. Step 4 Homework 1. Preview the reading text. 2. Remember the new words and expressions.
