Dear Sir or Madam,

At present, I am a senior in the Department of Japanese Language
at Beijing Foreign University. Since last year, I have been working

in translation from Japanese to Chinese and vice versa. In addition, I have
never given up learning English as my second foreign language. I took

and work experience make me a perfect candidate for the job.
I would be able to take part-time work for between 9and 12 hours
per week. If you would like to meet me, I can be reached at 139
67433422. I look forward to meeting you soon.
Yours faithfully,
Mary Brown

Dear Sir or Madam,
I’m writing in response to the advertisement on the Oct.1st, 2004 edition of China Daily. I am
confident that my education and experience qualify me for this position.
I can fulfill the responsibility for the following reasons. At present, I’m a sophomore of Zhejing
University. As an English major, I have laid a solid foundation in language learning. Moreover, I
have rich experience in teaching English though I am still a student now. I have tutored
English to two students of junior middle school for a whole year. Under
my supervision, both of them made great progress in English and got
good scores in the final exams. What’s more, I attached much importance
to communication with them and thus we built a good relationship.
I’m fully convinced that, with my qualification and experience, I am
the right person for the job. I hope you will take my application into
consideration. Please contact me at 12345@ 163.com by mail or 8777666
by phone. Your early reply will be appreciated.
Yours faithfully,
Cheng Daming
Dear Mr. Anderson,
Mr. Li Quanzhi, who has just returned to Shaoxing from Zhejiang
University informed me that you are considering the possibility of
offering a Chinese language course to a 7-year-old American boy. I’m
very much interested in such a position.
I have been teaching Chinese literature and composition to some
students who study in middle school since 2005. In the past two years, I
have worked in summer programs teaching Chinese language and culture
to strudents from English-speaking countries. As a result, I got to know
well the common problems of these students and how to adapt teaching to
achieve the best results.
With yeas of intensive English training I have no difficulty conducting
classes in English and feel quite confident working with American
students.
Please feel free to contact me if you need more information. Thank you
very much for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
John Brown
