CA-12 Bommerang: Built in Auatralia using parts available for existing Wirr-
away trainer. Slow, sluggish, but tough, they were built as a stop-gap to
defend against a threatened Japanese invasion until more capable fighters
were available, then used for ground attack. About 250 built.
Weapon station 1 available after June 1943.

CA-1 Wirraway: Trainer developed from North American AT-6 trainer in
1939. Pressed into service as a recon & light bomber in December, 1941. It
fought rearguard in Rabaul and Malaya. It flew recon over New Guinea late
1942 - mid-43 (when it was replaced by the Boomerang, which was no longer
needed as a fighter). 620 built (in 7 blocks as CA-1, 3, 5, 7-9). Ring-&-bead
gunsight.
CA-16 Wirraway: Available 1943. Wirrayaw built as single-crew dive
bomber. However, by the time it was available, dive-bomber was on the way
out as a concept, and better aircraft were available. No guns. Bombload
increased to to 1500 - use stations 2 & 3. 135 built.

CA-15: An excellent fighter resembling the P-51D Mustang. Developed after
the end of the war. However, by then, jets were the acknowledged future of
military aircraft, so after desultory flight testing that dragged on until 1950, the
CA-15 was not put into production. Included here as a “what if” aircraft.
