American Brittany Club - American Kennel Club American Brittany Club Quail Classic The American Brittany Club Quail Classic was held at Camp Robinson Wildlife Management Area, Conway Arkansas, October 25-29, 1999. Central Arkansas Brittany Club was host for this event. Daleand Rene Pool and crew worked hard to make this a quality event. They offered a steak feed on Wednesday evening for the participants, and everyone enjoyed the evening visiting. Purina has again been a sponsor of the American Brittany Club events. They donated product, hats and informational materials for the entrants. We certainly appreciate Purina's continued efforts to support our field trials. Trail Blazin' Innovations was gracious enough to donate the gifts for the judges. The judges for this event were Dewie Warren of Hopkinsville, KY and Al Mueller of Wentzville, MO. These gentlemen rode for five days, being attentive throughout the stake, in spite of the unseasonable conditions. The weather has not cooperated this fall, rainfall has been very limited, creeks were dry and ponds had little or no water in them. Dogs were watered frequently with water carried by the handlers. Conditions were hot, dry and dusty. The grounds have been groomed nicely by the Arkansas Game and Fish Department but without the normal spring burnings, areas that were not mowed were very tall and heavy. Without a heavy frost to date, leaves were still on the vegetation, making visibility dificult. "WINNING BEGETS WINNING". That statement appears to hold true. In viewing the two genertion pedigrees of the placed dogs, sire, dam, grandsire and granddams are Hall of Famers, National Champions, multiple hour winners, in other words dogs with credentials; Rimarda's Gambler, Rebel Jac's Hammering Hank, Beans Blaze, Blaze and Lobo's Evil Roy, Microdot., Rambling Rose VIII and the list goes on... First place was awarded to current National Champion Gambler's Ace In The Hole. Rocky is a seven year old white and orange male by Rimarda's Gambler x B-Bar-K's Jamie-Lyn of Auten. His proud owners are Ed and Donna Janulis of Illinois and his handler is Chad Holman. Blaze's Ramblin Mo Man garnered second place. Mo is owned by Don Lewis of San Angelo, Texas. He's a three years old by Silver Lake's Wishes Blaze x Rambling Rose VIII and was handled by Rob Rohner. Third place was White Out handled by Chad Holman. He's an almost all white four year ol whose pedigree shows Rebel Jac's Hammering Hank as sire and Scatts Rambling Jill as dam. The owner is Dr. Ron W.Harling of Holley, NY. Tejas Iron Mike was awarded fourth place. Mike, sired by Shasta's Spike from Evil Roy x Highpoints Sillo-ette, is a four year old liver and white whose happy owner is Tom Graves of Houston, Texas. He was handled by Rob Rohner. OAK GROVE PATCH OUT (Reisner) - MOKAN RAZZLE DAZZLE (Rohner): Patch make some nice casts handling kindly. He crossed the road headed through the woods before the mountain crossing. When judges called time, the handler went to retrieve the dog. Moments later handler could be heard calling point.
