DOWNER EDI RAIL ACCEPTABLE STANDARD OF ATTIRE POLICY Strengthening our Reputation and Protecting our Professional Image It is the expectation of Downer EDI Rail that employees and contractors maintain a high degree of professionalism in their presentation at all times. For men Suitable Business Attire is defined as: • A suit, or; • Dress pants with a dress shirt and an optional tie; • Presentable enclosed footwear. Downer EDI Rail Uniforms All employees who are supplied with Downer EDI Rail uniforms or branded clothing are to wear the clothing as issued. No modifications to uniforms or branded clothing are permitted. Employees are to ensure that uniforms or branded clothing displays the current company logo and that they are worn in a presentable manner. Casual Days and Working on Weekends Whilst it has become customary at certain facilities for staff to dress in a more casual manner on a nominated casual day, it is still expected that a certain level of professionalism is maintained. As such employees/contractors at facilities which hold a casual day should ensure that their clothing and footwear is clean and presentable. In addition to the above listing of unacceptable attire, other examples of clothing and footwear which would be inappropriate for a casual day include: • Thongs; • Singlets; • Any clothing which is ragged/has holes in it. Further, employees who attend meetings external to Downer EDI Rail on a casual day should conform to the above listed types of acceptable attire. This policy applies to instances where staff attend the office on weekends or public holidays. Actions Which May Be Taken By Management Should a staff member arrive at work in attire not in accordance with this policy they will be asked to return home to change. Further instances of inappropriate attire may result in disciplinary action being taken against the offender in accordance with Downer EDI Rail's Disciplinary Procedure (SPP-121).
