QUEENTEST FOR TESING
Coaxial Thermocouple MCT(快速响应热电偶)
Micro Thermocouples for High Frequency Measurements Adaptable to any Surface Shapes
Typical Applications
This coaxial thermocouple is designed for measurements of high frequency surface temperature
changes during hypersonic wind tunnel experiments.
From the surface temperature signal the convective heat flux is deduced. The probe has to be
seen as a half infinite body. The sensor measures the model surface temperature change. With
the knowledge of the wall material the heat flux can be calculated.
The probe is small enough for mounting in the wing tip and can be shape adapted to the surface
by grinding. Alternatively the conjunction can be reached by a vacuum disposition of a metal
coating, but with the disadvantage of a fixed geometry.
MCT48
The application of this thermocouple is not only limited to wind tunnel investigations, it can be
used for all cases where fast surface temperature measurements are required. With its fast
response time (only some μs) it can be used in engines, jet turbine engines etc. without
disturbance of stream. This coaxial thermocouple has demonstrated its reliability and durability
in multiple experiments in Germany and worldwide.
In cases of very high temperatures the surface will oxidise and lead to signal loss. A new
grinding with sand paper renovates the probe for nearly unlimited lifetime. Durability without
renovation: 35 min at 615°C and 8 min. by 715°C. For much longer durability use the metal coated
version.
