A: yeah, your chinaware is well designed and of high qualiy. I’m
especially interested in item No.A12, may I have your lowest quotations, CIF California.
B:Thanks for your inquiry. Our offer is good for 3 days
A: I don’t need that long to make up my mind. If your prices are favorable, I will place the order right away.
B:by all means,We have the offer ready for you. Let me see… the usual
price for item No.A12 is 100 dollars CIF NEW YORK.
A: wow, your price are on the high side! It’s about 20% higher than
the price I get from other suppliers. I think it’s unacceptable for us.
B:But you must take the quality into consideration. we are of superior quality to those from others. That is the reason why you come to us,don not you,
A: I agree with you there. I know your samples are well up to the standard andthe price of raw material is skyrocketing,but your price is unreasionable and leaves us no profit.
B: Ok, to be frank with you, if it were not for our long-standing relationship between us, I will not willing to give you this price. A: If that is the case, there is no need for further discussion. The gap is too great between your price and what I want.
B:all right,say , if your order is large enough, we will consider it seriously.

A: just 4%? It still leaves us a huge gap to be covered. B.What’s the suitable price in your perspective?
A:92USD per piece.
B: It is meaningless for each of us insisting on our own prices,let’s
meet each other half way,our rock-bottom price is reducing by 6%. It means 94USD per piece.

B: Well we’ve settled the question of price, quality and
quantity.now,what about the terms of payment?
A: we only accept payment by irrevocable letter of credit payable against shipping documents.
B: I see. But could you make an exception and accept D/A or D/P? A: I am so sorry, we have no discuss on the question. We insist on a letter of credit.
B:To tell you frankly,a letter of credit will increase my cost. When i open a L\C,i have to pay a deposit ,which will tie up my money and add to my cost
A:Consult your bank and see if they will reduce the required deposit to a minimum .
B:Still,there will be bank charges in connection with the credit.To meet you half-way .how about 50%by lc and the balance for dp ? A:i am sorry ,i can not accept this .
B: ok, L/C all right.We will effect shipment by the middle of October.
A: that’s too late. You see, November is the peak reason for this commodity in our market.
B: you may take It from me that the last thing we want to do is disappointing a customer, particularly an excellent customer like you. I will give you the earliest shipment as far as I can.
A: good, now let’s discuss packing.
