Q: People attend college or university for many different reasons (for example, new experiences, career preparation, increased knowledge). Why do you think people attend college or university? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Nowadays, going to college or university has been a kind of general step of education which everyone what to achieve. I think different people have different aims in their college studying; I want to talk about this a little bit.
First, the most obvious reason is that students want to be knowledgeable. University provides students with all kinds of interesting and useful courses. People can major in the lesson they enjoyed or the field they want to work on in the future. A great many of famous musicians, like Mozart and Chopin, for example, they all went to the best musical university when they were young. It shows that, university is good for helping students develop their skills knowledge. A good or suitable university is the prelude of success.
Some people, however, do not like studying in university very much. All the reason why they come to the university is to get the degree and used it for job hunting. They are not good students, they just learn a little bit before the exam is carrying out, and all they want is a PASS, simply. Most students in China spend their time in university in this way. There is a cousin of my, he studied very hard in high school for a top university. Thank god, he achieved it, and then he began resting himself. He said, there is nothing important in the course of university, and he aimed for nothing, but the degree.
And the other group of people, they go to the university because that’s what their parents want them to do. They just stay there like a zombie, or, I’d like to describe, Roberts. They never think about why they should do this, or whether it is meanful. In my view, these are the people who are most pitiable.
