L still remember the day, the day the mountains and the rivers shook, the day we cried, the day the whole world appalled, the day we suddenly know the duty of post 90s.
8 scales of magnitude earthquake hit Sichuan, the south part of China,one of the most beautiful scenic spots in China,now was scarred everywhere. The epicenter Wenchuan and its nearer
towns ,counties were terribly destroyed.When my father told me this news that day afternoon, l
could hardly believe it was true.l wish my ears had had something wrong. That was so sudden,
that l couldn’t accept the truth, l couldn’t imagine what had happened in Wenchuan, what a violent
hit for China!
That night l watched for a long time the reports on this extra earthquake on May 12,2008. The houses ,the schools,the tall buildings were all in the ruins.No signs ,no roads,no food,many people
were overwhelmed under the collapsed buildings.Saw these, my tears constantly fell down from
my eyes , l felt very sad for the people hurt and died, but l have never felt sympathetic,for my
heart was full of admiration.
Though the earthquake made the people in Sichuan lose their relatives and many of them were homeless, but they never scared, they are always very brave, even the little child, they seemed to
grow in a day. The disaster victims are still optimistically faced with the problems and life in the future. They never flinched from the disaster, they learned to put the pain in the bottom of their
hearts, certainly ,they cried, they sorrowed, but they have never given up any rope of wish, they
turned their misery to power, and exerted themselves to build their homes.
From their unmoved eyes, l knew everything would be all right, our motherland must be more powerful in the future.China has successed in this big exam, a natural exam. And there might be
more and more difficulties for China to overcome, l think we can solve them one by one , because
l believe our country is a united and tough nation. The solidity of a country would never fade
away easily.
L never have such a conviction at this time:China will some day stand on the top of the world stage!
May 12,2009,the first anniversary of Wenchuan Earthquake.Many people commemorated the dead in the earthquake.We should not only recall the people died in the earthquake,but also
memorize and try to learn the spirit of Sichuan.
