Personal Statement Gao Lulu I took Human Resource Management as my undergraduate major and began my four-year college study in Heilongjiang University in 2008. For my endeavor in the past four years, I succeeded in achieving an excellent academic performance, GPA 8.847 out of 10 for my bachelor degree in Human Resource Management, and was awarded school academic scholarships for three consecutive years. Through the undergraduate courses such as Organizational Behavior, Management, Labor Relations, Public Relations, I obtained abundant knowledge in both Human Resource Management and other related management and business field. The final interview question for me was how to highlight corporate image and spread corporate culture. I thought for a while and put forth that organizing such significant activities as donation activities in welfare center in the name of our company would be an efficient way to highlight corporate image as well as improve the internal relationship. More than satisfied with my answer, the manager gave me a chance to organize a donation activity. Apart from dealing with daily administrative work well, I took this chance and successfully organized a donation activity in a Shenzhen Children Welfare association. It was an unforgettable experience. Based on my management knowledge, I knew that in a business activity, if one person lacks productivity, then everyone else could suffer. Thus, to motivate others as a means of preventing such issues was of great importance. From the very beginning of the donation activity, I circulated my detailed active plan book among different departments, making sure everyone had a clear understanding of the activity’s object and encouraging them to participate. Then, when the number of participants arrived at what I had anticipated, I began to divide the work into different parts and assigned them to corresponding departments. Besides, I kept weekly reviewing the activity progress and adjusting my plan in time, from contacting the welfare association, purchasing donated goods to preparing the donation ceremony and inviting guests. Meanwhile, I was willing to hear other colleagues’suggestions and adopted those creative and beneficial ideas. To my delight, many colleagues in my company actively took part in this activity, responding that such activity greatly strengthen their social responsibility. All my efforts and hard work turned out to be worthy when we saw children accepted our donated goods excitedly. More importantly, our donation activity caused widespread media and public attention, which was out of my expectation. On the summarization convention, my hard work on both organization and execution got high appreciation from the company president. Thanks to this intern experience, I further strengthened my management knowledge. After my graduation from Heilongjiang University, I was ambivalent about what job I should take. I wanted to work in a welfare institution and applied my management knowledge into my work. However, I have little experience in management. With my parents’advice, I decided to accumulate relevant working experience on management first. In July 2012, I got a chance to work in Shenzhen Changjiang Furniture Company. As the HR Specialist, I took charge of day-to-day HR operations including internal training, roster management and new staffs performance evaluation. At the first month, since I was not familiar with other sub companies and processing plants, it took me much time in updating and checking the roster. Gradually, I became more and more proficient in this work. Meanwhile, it also enhanced my communication skill for I had to frequently communicate with different staffs of sub companies. This September, through constant contact, I invited Yao Ruoling, a famous government purchasing evaluator to deliver training lectures for the new staff of marketing center. Owing to my efforts, this training achieved desired result with a success in equipping the new staffs with necessary professional knowledge and enabling them to be qualified for their position. Knowing that many colleagues were living alone in Shenzhen, I came out a thought of organizing a party in the Mid-Autumn Festival. Supported by the company president, I mobilized department colleagues to participate in and rehearsed various programs like sketches, cross talk. During that period, I worked until very late, hoping to show the best programs. As expected, everyone enjoyed themselves in the party, temporarily forgetting the pressure and troubles brought by work. While gaining appreciation from my colleagues, from the perspective of people management, I knew it clearly that such activity was a great source of motivation for personnel.
