“What Falling in Love Feels Like...” “What Falling in Love Feels Like...” In His 20s For Joe Jonas, 23, It’s Indescribable “Falling in love can hit you hard, however old you are. All the emotions you experience are indescribable. It’s kind of like being on stage performing―you feel as if it’s the only thing going on in that moment, and that is an amazing feeling. In your 20s, it’s different from dating in your teens; you’ve tried a few relationships and you understand more about what love is and how to treat someone even better than before. For me, I’m pickier now about the people I date, and I know what I’m looking for. It gets more complicated as you get older. You never know when the time will come to meet ‘The One’. My bother (Kevin) got married when we was 22!” For Muzammil Ibrahim, 27, It’s Elusive “I think love is overrated. I don’t see it as it is written in books or shown in the movies. I fell in love for the first time when I was five-years-old. She was a year older than me, so you could say that I’m into older women (ha ha!) In my teens I found myself going gaga for these good looking women and that was love for me. For better or worse, not much has changed (I’m still a sucker for good looking women), but I’ve realised there’s a shift in my priorities. I was cheated on in an earlier relationship and I think that really made me bitter towards the idea of being in love. All that has changed, I want to settle down now. I have yet to experience true love but I am looking forward to it, so wish me luck!” For Bhaumik Sampat, 25, It’s Poetic “I once read somewhere ‘The best things in life can’t be seen or touched’. Clichéas it might be, sounds a lot like love...doesn’t it? It’s a pretty cool chain reaction―the more you give, the more you get. Falling in love is a complete stress buster―it helps me cope with a world of challenges that seem scary at times. You definitely make a conscious decision to start dressing well, looking better, and pretty much putting the best version of yourself out there. Talk about an effective confidence booster! Back in high school, love meant red roses, chocolates, holding hands, finding silly excuses to drop her home just to spend more time together. Growing older, that feeling has matured as well. It’s more about discovering each other and making plans for the future.” For Sidhartha Mallya, 25, It’s Fleeting “You know, my first reaction is to believe I’ve never fallen in love. But I’d be lying. I think I have definitely been there. Once. I wasn’t that old. In fact, I’m 25 now so it wasn’t that long ago. I believe in love. It’s a great feeling, it really is. I look forward to finding it again.” For Ayushmann Khurrana, 28, It’s Serious “It’s a great rush of adrenaline that you’d never have expected. It’s way better than skydiving or even taking a spaceship to the moon, if you ask me! And when you think about it, first loves are the most impressionable ones. They give you that high and you have no idea what’s happening! I’m a committed man, in fact I’ve only ever had one girlfriend and I’m still with her. It’s been 11 years of joyful togetherness now. And really, it doesn’t even feel like it’s been that long. I think falling in love is all about being yourself completely(annoying habits intact) in front of your wife or girlfriend. Most importantly, it’s about respecting your partner.” In His 30s For Jake Gyllenhaal It’s Sexy “The wonderful part about falling in love is all that time spent naked„and being intimate with each other like that.” For Kunal Kapoor, 34, It’s a Rush “Science has a lot of facts and figures when it comes to falling in love. Research has shown, it takes between 90 seconds and four minutes to decide if you fancy someone. Scientists will give you a list of chemicals ranging from adrenaline to dopamine, and tell you in what exact measure they actually kick in but ask them what it feels like, and chances are they’ll have a hard time describing it. For me love is a little like skydiving. You’re scared stiff at first, then you scream out loud, both from the rush and lack of oxygen, feeling slightly disoriented. But once the parachute opens, you find a place of absolute peace and silence. If you’re lucky, you’ll end up with your feet firmly on the ground, instead of face down. Sometimes, it also feels like a combination of Facebook and Google―you want to put everything out there, and share it all with your partner, no matter how silly or trivial.” For Sahil Shroff, 33, It’s Addictive “Falling in love is the most amazing feeling that I’ve ever experienced. I really didn’t know what it was at the time, because I was in a phase where I was dating a lot of women and settling down with one just wasn’t something I gave much thought to. I guess that’s the thing with love, it hits you when you least expect it. So I did fall in love and once I did, I felt like I have to be in love all the time. Seriously, it’s an addictive feeling. That one experience has made me realise that I don’t wanna be a ‘player’anymore. I enjoy being in love; it makes everything a lot lighter and way more fun. It gives a lot more meaning to life itself. You have a partner in crime to do whatever you want with. Unfortunately, I’m currently single, so ladies, you better watch out!” For Rajneish Duggal, 32, It’s Forever “I’m married to my girlfriend, if that makes any sense. We were dating for six years before we got married, and cheesily enough, we tied the knot on Valentine’s day. After having been with someone for so long, you realise that love is unconditional and you can never get bored by it. We are still exploring and discovering each other. We constantly fall in love with each other, over and over again. Love makes you do some crazy things that can make you go,‘What was I thinking?!’Like the time when we’d just started dating and barely knew each other. I snuck into her house with a hundred roses. It was risky, but she thought it was so cool―making it totally worth it!” For Vidyut Jamwal, 32, It’s Ineffable “Honestly, if I were to start describing what love meant, I feel like I would be destroying everything that it means. It’s all about being happy, all the time ―and that’s a very hard feeling to articulate. It’s all about trying and doing different things, and discovering and being a completely new person around your partner. For me, it’s mostly about not planning your life. You just land up going with the flow and, well, being mindnumbingly happy!” And Beyond... For George Clooney, 51, It’s Instant “We all like to believe in Cinderella―she comes to the ball, their eyes meet, and she’s perfect for him and he’s perfect for her. I don’t know if that necessarily works all the time, but it happened to my parents. My father was MC of the Miss Kentucky pageant and my mum was in it. He took her on a date and asked her to marry him immediately. They’re still together, so I know love at first sight can work.”
