Ability goals (能力目标) Enable the students to talk about the history of blue jeans based on the text with the target language in this unit and to make a brief summary about the text. 3. Learning ability goals(学能目标) Let the students learn how to talk about blue jeans and how to make a brief summary about the history of blue jeans using the information in the text or they learned in some other ways. 4. Emotional goals (情感态度目标) Get students to learn something about he blue jeans , the influence of he blue jeans and according to their experience and their own feeling, let the students have a sense of national pride and the affection of the world clothes culture. Teaching important points(教学重点) ※Help the students know something about blue jeans, the origin  of blue jeans. ※Help the students to grasp the language points. Teaching difficult points (教学难点) Analyze the writing peculiarity of the text and the structures of some sentences; Summarize the main idea of each paragraph as well as the text; Guide the students to talk about who made jeans first and why he made this kind of trousers. Give the students some trousers to discuss between the deskmates or in groups which they like best .(on the screen) 2. Give the students three questions on the screen, and then let the students watch a video and answer the questions. ( on the screen) Do you know who made jeans first? (Levi Strauss) What kind of work did Levi Strauss do at that time? Make a guess. (Maybe a business man) Why do young people like to follow pop or film stars in fashion? (Because they maybe think it is fashionable or they may admired the star.) Step Ⅱ Reading (10 minutes) 1、 First reading: Fast reading, skimming Ask the students to read the text silently and quickly, and then try to find out the main idea of each paragraph. 2、 Second reading: scanning, reading for detailed information In this part, the students will read the text again carefully to comprehend the passage accurately, and meanwhile help the students to form a good habit of reading.
