四、表语从句 一、概念:在句子中起表语作用的从句叫做表语从句,位于主句系动词(be, become, appear, seem,look,sound,feel,get,smell等)的后面,用来说明主语的身份、性质、品性、特征和状态等。也是名词性从句的一种。 例如:The problem is how we can get the things we need. The pens are not what I need. 试比较:(1)The boy will become a doctor. (2)The boy will make a model plane. 问:哪一句是表语从句? 二、引导词 表语从句的引导词和主语从句的引导词相同。 1.从属连词that。 如:The trouble is that I have lost his address. 注:连词that引导表语从句时,that不能省略。 2.连接代词who, whom, whose, what, which, whoever, whatever, whichever 如:The problem is who we can get to replace her. 3.连接副词where, when, how, why 如:The question is how he did it. 4. 从属连词whether, as, as if / though 如:He looked just as he had looked ten years before. It sounds as if someone is knocking at the door. 注:if不能引导表语从句 5. because, why 如:That's because he didn't understand me. (That's because..强调原因) That's why he got angry with me. (That's why...强调结果) 试比较:(1)That is why I cannot agree.
