Atiertwoyearsofhardwork,theEORprojectteam ofBohaiheavycrudemadesignificantbreakthroughin tacklingtheissueofheavycrudeoilfieldstimulationby utilizingdrillingandfracturingtechniquesandmoderate sandcontro1.Byapplyingtheresearchresult,anaverage increaseofproductionrateby2to6timeswasachieved inSZ36.1and0HD32.6oilfieldsinBohai.After
gainingdistinguisheconomicbenefit,thetechnology wasalsoemployedinNanbao35-2oilfield—themost

fieldacceleratedthedevelopmentofitsmarginalfields byreducingthelegsoftheplatformsfrom4to2or1 withthreesupportinganchors.Basedonthesimplified
platforms,theresearcherdesignedthethreeonesmodel (onesimplifiedplatformplusonesubmarinepipeline andonesubmarinecable)formarginalfielddevelopment andapplieditinWeizhoufield,SouthChinaSea.Asa result,themarginalfields,includingWeizhou111—1,6—1,
and11—4N.hadbeenwelldevelopedwithhelpofthe newtechnologiesandalsobydependingonthehandling capacityofoldplatformsandexistingsubmarinecables. FPSOandsubseaproductiontechnologies
Thefloatingproductionstorageandoffioading(FPSO) systemisalarge—scaleproductionsystemthatintegrated oilproduction,storage,andexporting,livingfacilitiesfor employees.anddrivingforcesinoffshoreoilindustry. InordertoeffectivelydevelopmentChina'soffshore petroleumandtacklethetechnologicaldifficultiesin thedevelopmentofoilandgasfieldswithproducing problems,CNOOCLimitedhasstartedthedevelopment
ofFPSOsince1980sandputtheBohaiFriendshipFPSO intoproductionin1989.Afterl5yearsoftenaciOUS effortsandhardwork,thecompanydevelopedonits own8EPSOsandputthemintooperationin10fieldsin BohaiandSouthChinaSea.Currently,thetechnology hasalreadybecomeastrategictechnologvf0rthe developmentofChina'smarineoilandgasfields.In 2004,75%ofthecompany'sannualtotalproductioncan successdevelopmentofthetechnologyisaccomplished throughthejointeffortsofmanyinstitutes,universities, andmanufacturers,involvinghardworksmadebydozens ofassistantcompaniesandthousandsofemployees.As majortechnologicalequipment,theFPSOhasalready generatedgoodeconomicbenefitforthedevelopmentof China'seconomy.

IntroductionandutilizationofLNGtechnologies TheseeminglyendlessbusinesschainforLiquified NaturalGas(LNG)includesgasproduction(from gasfields),pipelinetransportation(fromgasfieldto liquefactionfactoriesandthentoLNGshipsinoil—
producingcountries),shipment(fromfactorytothe LNGterminalsofimportingcountries),andpipeline distributiontoendcustomers,
includingpowerstationor
otherenergyusers.Thechainis
closelyconnectedandcannot
workproperlywithevenone
segmentmissing,thereforerisks
