featuringcircumferentiallyasymmetricstiffnesslay-upthat
generates,fortheproblemathand,elasticcouplingamong
plunging,pitchingandtransverseshearmotions.Theunsteady
incompressibleaerodynamicsusedhereisbasedontheconcept
ofindicialfunctions.Issuesrelatedtoaeroelasticinstabilityare
discussed,theinfluenceofwarpingrestraintandtransverse
shearonthecriticalspeedareevaluated,andpertinent
conclusionsareoutlined.

modellingandbecauseofthefactthatthenon-linearityand
typicalflexiblepropertiesphysicallyexistinmanyvehicle
components,arigid-elasticcouplingmulti—bodysystem
dynamicmodelisestablishedforalightbus.Thefull—vehicle
modelofthebusisbuiltbyCADsoftwareina3Dsolid
fashion.Hence,thenecessarymodellingparametersofthebus
areobtainedforsimulations.Theeffectsofthenon-linearity
andflexiblepropertiesofthecomponentsareinvestigatedin
detail.Simulationsresultsarecomparedwiththeresultsof
fieldstestsandtheeffectivenessofthemodelisvalidated.
