This document is the manual configuration for DHCPv6 readygo test in X1000/X3500 device; the following items need care before testing.
1 Access IPv6 configure page
Reboot DUT, after start up, input such URL , you will see following web page.
There are total 6 buttons needed in the whole test.
Button 1: Enable DHCPv6 client for RFC 3315, RFC 3646 test
Button 2: Disable DHCPv6 client
Button 3: Enable DHCPv6 client for RFC 3633, RFC 3633 + 3646 test
Button 4: Release DHCPv6 configurations
Button 5: Save configuration When enable button6, only used in RFC3736
Button 6: Add subnet for DHCPv6 server relay, used in RFC3736
2 Wan Configurations
Ipv6 up depends on ipv4, need enable ipv4 up during the whole test, the following is the example configuration.
In basic setup page, select Ethernet Static IPInput the IPv4 IP/Mask/Gateway and DNS, then save.
3 Confirm Message test
In order to send confirm message, the default method is to reboot the DUT, our DUT does not support this method because can not save the dhcp leases in the flash, but can send confirm message When wan link down and up, so need plug the wan cable when test confirm message
4 DHCPv6 servers (RFC3736)
DHCPv6 server launched when IPv6 WAN up, it need configure the IPv6 wan. When test the relay cases (listed below), need to add following neigh cache in the console.
Ip neigh add 3ffe:501:ffff:100:200:ff:fe00:a4a4 lladdr 00:00:00:00:a4:a4 dev br0
Listed the dhcpv6 server relay cases as follow:
1) Part B : Relay Agent/Server Message Format
2 )Relay Message Option Format
3) Interface ID Option Format (Advanced)
4) Part D : Relay-Reply Message with Reply message(w/o Interface-id Option)
5) Part E : Relay-Reply message with Reply message(w/ Interface-id Option) (Advanced)
6) Part A : Relay-Reply message transmission
7) Part B : Relay-Reply message transmission through the same Relay agents
In this case, need add subnet in ipv6 configure page (press button 5 and Button 6)
8) Part C : Relay-Reply message transmission through the Layered Relay agents
In this case, need add subnet in ipv6 configure page (press button 5 and button 6)
5 DHCPv6 DUID
Our DUT supports DUID-LL Format, so need change the config.pl file in the test script root directory before testing.
$Support_DUID_LLT 0
$Support_DUID_EN 0
$Support_DUID_LL 1
6 DNS search list
When do dns query, the dns resolver in uclibc try the default name firstly, if failed, then it try the name + search list? but the script file only receives the dns query once, in order to pass those cases (search list cases in RFC3646), need ping the full domain name as follow:
Ping6 dhcpv6.test.exmaple.com
Ping6 dhcpv6.test.com
