Qualifications: Over 25 years experience in estimating and project management in the construction, restoration, and remodeling industries, with projects including single and multi-family residential and commercial, industrial and institutional properties, and up to $1.5 million in size. I've averaged $1 million in contract sales per year for the companies I’ve worked for, representing a mix of direct repair program claims, call-in leads, or leads solicited from adjusters, agents, previous customers and other sources. I've had substantial experience in damage restoration and reconstruction of all types, and have been a licensed property adjuster in both Texas and Florida. I have had substantial remodeling experience, and possess the design and creativity skills necessary to understand what customers want, and the way to accomplish it. I also have an additional 10 years experience in direct outside sales and sales management experience in business to business communications and imaging equipment and systems sales for companies like Cannon, Sharp, Litton, Dictaphone, and NEC. I served as a sales training instructor at an advanced training center for a nationwide sales organization and as a regional manager fro their south Texas operations covering branch offices and employees in two cities, and a geographic territory from the middle Texas coast to the U.S./Mexico border. Estimating As an estimator, I've been responsible for on-site analysis of damaged structures, developing repair and remodeling scopes of work, plans, conducting detailed take-offs, performing design work, preparing itemized estimates, obtaining and negotiating loss settlements with insurance adjusters, contracts with property owners, and handling supplements and change orders. I've had a substantial amount of estimating experience handling large-scale losses, often involving overlapping policies, multiple owners or owners and tenants. Project Management Project management responsibilities have included job production from start to completion, budgeting, scheduling, quality control, code-compliance, management and supervision of subcontractors and up to 20 direct employees on as many as 15 concurrent projects, negotiating sub bids, preparing job budgets and job cost/profit projections. I'm familiar with all construction, repair, restoration, and repair procedures and methods, most building and fire codes, EPA microbial remediation guidelines, and ADA guidelines. Additionally, I have some experience in haz-mat abatement/remediation. I know all construction trades and possess "hands-on" experience in most, so I know first-hand what can be done and what can’t. I also have the finesse to obtain the trust, cooperation and understanding of insurance adjusters, as well as insureds, that only comes through experience, to get the claim settlements required to properly restore properties, and to build and maintain good relationships with all parties.
