The More I Learn, the More Ignorant I Find Myself to Be
A famous saying goes “The more I learn, the more ignorant I find myself to be”. Simple as the saying is, its meaning is profound and thought-provoking. It is meant to tell us that learning is endless. There are always things for us to learn about, and there is no reason for one to feel content or complacent.

Taking a look around, we can find examples too many to enumerate. Here I can think of no better illustration of the proverb than the experience of my own. As soon as I was enrolled in college, I felt a big burden off my mind. So did my classmates. We just wanted to relax. But at our first English lesson on how to improve our study the teacher told us, “There is no end to learning. The only thing you can do is to work hard to learn more.” The teacher's words awakened me and reminded me of the importance of continuous learning. Now I am an employee, and life has taught me too many harsh lessons. The more I learn and experience, the more I realize how little I know. Therefore, I keep on my studies with an aim to obtain a master degree.

Bringing what has been discussed into a conclusion, we may say that study is an endless thing and we should be modest and persistent with our study. In a word, we should truly understand the profound meaning of the proverb and take the right actions in our life and work in the future.
