Evident in this Awacs cutaway drawing by "Flight" artist Frank Munger, following a visit to
Boeing's Renton facility by John Marsden, are the nine multi-purpose consoles on which data
collected by the radar aerials in the rotodome are displayed to the controllers. A crew rest area,
which makes extended missions possible, is in the rear fuselage. Radar processors and computers
housed in the holds are connected to the radar aerials through the rotodome struts. ("Flight'*
