usinessDriversfortheITIVTheadoptionoftheITIVwillbringsignificantbusinessbenefitsineasieraccesstoinformationgreatercrossworkgroupandcrossorganizationcooperationandsynergyfastercycletimeinallbusinessprocessesandasimpler,easiertomanage,andlesscostlyinfrastructureMeetingBusinessGoalsTheITIVislikeahighwaysystemWithoutagoodhighwaysystem,itisalmostimpossibleforaneconomytogrowandbeefficientsincematerialsandfinishedgoodscan’tgetfromoneplacetoanotherefficientlyFortheenterprise,theITIViscrucialtomeetingtimetomarketgoalsandtobyRaytheonProfessionalServicesLLCAppendixF:InformationResourcesManagementimplementingconcurrentengineeringpracticesTimelyaccesstoinformationisaprerequisitetoalleffortstoincreasetheenterprise’soperationaleffectivenessandengineerbusinessprocessesInformationSystems(IS)andTechnologyGoalsAsanexample,amodernnetworkisessentialtoprogressintheuseofinformationtechnologyintheenterpriseAllnewapplicationsystemsmakeheavyuseofthenetworkforrealtimedatainterchangeMostnewapplicationdevelopmentisbeingdoneintheWebbasedclient–servermodelinordertoexploitcosteffectivelowendsystemsThroughouttheenterprise,ISorganizationsshouldbeplanningtoputfewerandfewerapplicationsoncentralizedmainframesandtargetnewapplicationstodistributedapproachesTheenterprisemayneedanupdatedarchitectureifthistransitiontodistributedcomputingisgoingtosucceedApplicationswillmakegreateruseofvisualinformationintheformofimaging,includingDCADandvideoTheseapplicationswillincreasethecapacityrequirementsonthene
