Cleaner for Milking Equipment
The best way to remove impurities and deposits of proteins, fat, carbohydrats, lactic acid, etc., is to use cleaners based on
FMEE and FMES
In this context it is important to note the considerably lower oral toxicity (LD50) of the Hordaphos products. For instance, the
LD50 dosage in rats for Hordaphos CC MN is > 3,000 mg/kg body weight. In comparison, the value for phosphoric acid is in
the region of 1530 mg/kg body weight.
Formulation
20.0 % FMEE
10.0 % Phosphoric acid, 85 %

65.0 % Water
Application
The formulation can be both used for cold and warm appli-
cations. A concentration of 0.5 % in water is recommended.
Preparation
The formulation components are mixed at room temperature
in the given amount of water.

Cleaner for Workshop and
Garage Floors
Workshop and garage floors are soiled chiefly with oil, grease, rust and dirt. The use of cleaners based on aliphatic or
aromatic solvents is not possible in enclosed areas because of the fire hazard and toxicity of the gases.
To achieve a satisfactory result in these conditions, aqueous formulations based on the FMEE products can be
recommended.
Formulation
30.0 % FMEE
5.0 % LAS (Stepan.Co.)
7.5 % Hostapur SAS 60 (Clariant, Functional Chemicals Div.)
57.5 % Water
Application
Depending on the degree of soiling, the concentrate diluted
about 1:2 to 1:20 is applied to the surface to be cleaned and
rinsed off with cold or warm water after about 15 minutes.
Preparation
The components are mixed together in the given order.

Cleaner for Workshop and
Garage Floors
Workshop and garage floors are contaminated primarily with oil, grease, rust and pigment dirt. The use of cleaners based
on aliphatic or aromatic solvents is not possible in enclosed areas because of the fire hazard and toxicity of the gases.
Nevertheless, aqueous formulations based on the FMEE product range can be recommended for achieving
satisfactory cleaning results.
If the floor is contaminated again by waste oil, the layer of oil does not penetrate into the surface for about 24 hours. The
surface is made oil-repellent by the first cleaning operation.
Formulation
23 % FMEE
7 % Sodium cumenesulfonate, 40 % solution
5 %
14 % Tetrapotassium pyrophosphate, 60 %
9 % Potassium hydroxide solution, 50 %
5 % Potassium silicate solution, 28 - 30° Bé
37 % Water
Application
When diluted up to 1:100 with water the formulation can be
sprayed onto the contamination with suitable spraying
equipment, left for a short time and then washed off with
water.
acid cleaner for workshops and garage floors is applied to
the alkaline pretreated flooring, neutralization occurs. The
dark discoloration of the flooring is removed. With this clea-
ning cycle there is no risk of slipping.
Preparation
The formulation components are mixed together in reverse
order at room temperature.

Neutral Cleaner
All-purpose cleaners are intended to be capable of removing a wide variety of dirt and soil even at a neutral pH. This
formulation is noted for the fact that even in the technical sector, dirt such as cutting fluids and greases as well as mineral
deposits can be removed completely. FMEE not only acts as an effective corrosion inhibitor but also ensures
excellent cleaning results because of its dispersing and emulsifying properties (see picture).
Formulation
5.00 % FMEE
(Stepan USA.)
3.00 % Isopropanol
2.00 % Butyl diglycol
0.50 % Trisodium salt of nitrilotriacetic acid, 92 %
84.50 % Water
Application
The cleaner is used in a dilution of about 1:10 to 1:100 with
water, depending on the degree of soiling. Should soiling be
severe, the concentrated solution can be used.
Preparation
The components are mixed together at room temperature in
reverse order. The formulation can be colored optionally
with 0.0025 - 0.01 % of the green dye Sanolin Green R-3GL.

Wax Remover
Release agents, which are based on wax formulations, are used e.g. in the food industry, in plastic and aluminium
industries. The instruments, which spread the wax as well as the mold surface itself have to be cleaned regularly from
unmeant wax deposits. The best cleaning result can be achieved with an alkaline formulation which should be
non-corrosive.
Corrosiveness of the wax remover without and
with our product.
Steelpanel before and after cleaning with our wax remover
(10 min dipping)
Preparation
The components are mixed together at room temperature in
reverse order.
Application
The cleaner is used in concentrated form. The cleaning
power can be enhanced by increasing the pH value with
NaOH. Rinse with water after cleaning.

** 2004 restated: The figures for 2004 have been restated owing to the retroactive application of IFRS 2 (Share-based Payment).
In addition, actuarial gains and losses have also been set off in full against equity in accordance with IAS 19.93A, and this standard
too has been applied retroactively effective January 1, 2004.
2004 comparable: Effective fiscal 2005, scheduled goodwill amortization ceases to be applicable. The figures for the years 2001 to

CASE STUDY
Logistics
Henkel Turns to Aruba for Centralized
Management, Security and Lower TCO
With headquarters in Düsseldorf, Germany, and operations in more
than 125 countries around the world, Henkel needed to deploy a
wireless mobility solution on a global basis. The name behind such
well-known brands as Persil, Loctite and Schwarzkopf, Henkel realised
their existing wireless LAN (WLAN), based on legacy “thick” access
points, would not scale, lacked the necessary security, and required
too much administration.
Henkel planned to deploy the next-generation WLAN to many of its
locations around the world: It would support logistics within their
warehouses, employee applications and guest access in their offices
and training centres. Given the magnitude of the network, and its
importance to
