Today, the Plant Protection Conference is sponsored by South China Agricultural University who is the caterer and International Plant Protection Science Association (IPPSA) who is the sponsor in Guangzhou. Please allow me to extend our warmest welcome to all the distinguished guests.
The world agricultural development in today faced with so many challenges such as population growth, resource shortage, environmental degradation and the frequent natural disasters and so on. We take the important mission to guarantee the food security, biological safety and ecological safety. The new century plant protection needs to carry out the tactics about the sustainable control of agricultural pest so that we can confront the world agriculture science and technology revolution at a reasonable day rate. Therefore, we should further strengthen the international communication and cooperation in plant protection field; share the efforts of the science and technology development of the plant protection and to improve the level of plant protection together.
Over the years, China has attached great importance to the scientific research and technological innovation of the plant protection. We have put forth effort to strengthen the plant protection infrastructure and comprehensive prevention and control ability construction and extended strongly the advanced and appropriate comprehensive prevention and
control technology. We have established more perfect plant protection scientific system, plant quarantine system, agricultural technology extension system and significant pest monitoring and control system. Therefore, we have controlled the hazards of the agricultural harmful biological and have obtained the prominent benefits of economic, social and ecological which played an important role to keep the continuous and steady development of Chinese agriculture.
China will pay more attention to strengthen the plant protection, participate in the international exchange and cooperation of the plant protection areas, and absorb adequately the advanced international plant protection technology. It will promote the development and innovation of China plant protection technology. We will focus on develop the high quality, high yield, high efficiency, ecological and safety agriculture; we will work hard to ensure the national food security, biological safety and ecological security.
