Scenario Narrative The actor wants to order one or more products. On the Web site, the actor identifies the products to be ordered and then adds them to the order vehicle, such as the shopping basket. The total cost of the order is updated as products are added. Assumptions/Preconditions 1. The actor has browsed to the Adventure Works Cycles Web site, and the home page has successfully appeared in the user’s browser. 2. The actor has selected a product to order. Actors 1. Customer 2. Sales Representative Basic Course 1. Use case begins when the actor decides to create an order. 2. System creates an order and adds the selected product to the order. 3. System proposes that the actor add products to the order. 4. Until customer order is complete: a. Actor browses to a new product (uses UC 06.1 View Catalog). b. Actor adds product to the order. c. System updates order details and total cost with new product information. 5. Actor indicates that the order is complete. 6. System validates the order and requests delivery information. 7. Actor enters delivery information. 8. System validates delivery information and requests payment information. 9. Actor enters payment information. 10. System validates payment information. 11. Use case ends when valid payment information has been entered and an order tracking identifier is returned to the actor. Alternate Course 1. If payment/delivery is to be deferred, Steps 6 through Step 11 are skipped. Use case ends when order is validated and saved for the actor. 2. If order exists (was previously deferred): a. Use case begins when deferred order is selected. b. Step 2 is replaced with system displays from previously created order. c. Steps 3 through Step 11 continue as in basic course. 3. If an invalid payment is entered, system informs actor of invalid payment and use case resumes at Step 8. 4. If an invalid delivery address is entered, system informs actor of invalid delivery address, and use case resumes at Step 6. 5. The sales representative may choose to download the order details onto a CE device for signature. This action can occur at any point in the use case from Step 3 on. If a CE device is used, the use case is extended by UC 05.9.2 Employee Creates Order with CE Device. 6. The sales representative may choose to download the order details onto a laptop. This action can occur at any point in the use case from Step 3 on. If a laptop is used, the use case is extended by UC 05.9.1 Employee Creates Order with Laptop. Uses/Extends 1.
