It is inevitable for one to absorb things from them and change a previous perception. In addition, modern people are more and more independent. They are not easy to be affected by another person. But they might believe what on the media, because these are more factual things. So I think the media influence people more than their relatives and friends. (2). Well, in my opinion, it is my family members and friends who influence me most. The information provided by newspaper, TV, radio or other formats of media can just let us know what has happened. But speaking of how to deal with it, we need more specific suggestions. Family members and friends can offer us this kind of information as they are the ones who know us most besides ourselves. I prefer studying in a big city. First of all, the universities in a big city have more teaching resources and better available facilities, since they may receive more recognition by government. I definitely prefer to study in a big city. The most common reason for us to study is to find a good job, and there are much more job opportunities in big cities than the small town. Attending college means you can get well-educated in a certain area. And the education will make you fully prepared for your future career. Besides, when you graduate from the college, you can receive a degree, which is very important to get a decent pay. Even if you are over qualified for your job position, the boss has a good reason to give you a relatively low salary because you do not have a certification from college. 47. Some think the college education is very important. Others believe that college education is not of vital importance in one’s life. In my opinion, for general people, attending college is very important to help us gain success in career. Nowadays, attending college is not only a process of accumulating knowledge, but also the recognition of your abilities by the society. With a college degree, you’ll get more chances of future career success. Furthermore, attending college will make you respected by the society and give you more opportunities of promotion. So although there are some exceptions such as Bill Gates, I believe attending college will prepare you much better for future. (2). In my opinion, the study in the university is pretty important. Take myself as an example. I used to be a student of journalism in the university. I learned how to interview, how to edit, how to write briefs, comments and reviews. And then I went to the China Economic Daily to work as an intern during my third year. I found what I had learnt in the university was really useful, though not practical but it is the basis to handle with the real journalism. On the second thought, the certification of university is a proof of your learning ability for many employers. It is an essential competitiveness when you seek for jobs. 48. Usually, novels, magazines and poetry are considered the three major forms of literature. Which one do you prefer and explain why you prefer this literature form. They can relax me when I’m tired and want to have a little break, you just need to sit down to enjoy the story in a fiction, just imagining what has happened according to the description, as if you are watching a movie. For other types of reading materials, although poems may be of great literature values, but sometimes they are difficult to understand. When I turn to them, I’m just looking for a way of relaxation rather than another type of learning. Magazines are always expensive and contain lots of advertisements. So I really prefer fictions to the others. (2). I definitely prefer reading novels among the three. Especially the fairy novels like Harry Potter for example. Firstly, although working at home may be comfortable, it’s difficult for me to be fully-devoted to work. So I prefer the traditional way to work in an office. (2). I definitely prefer to work at home. I like to burn the night oil, and get up late in the morning. So I am always late for work. I can manage my work at night when I am more energetic. Besides, working in office means you must wear something formal, but I don’t like that. If I can choose to work at home, I can manage the work in my pajamas. HAHA… 51. When communicating with your friends and families, you can rely on letters, email or telephone calls. Which method of communicating do you think is better and why? (1). I usually communicate with family or friends by telephone. Firstly of all, I feel more close to my family or friends by directly talking to them. Hearing their voices gives me a sense of intimacy, especially for a student far away from home. Furthermore, it’s more efficient to communicate by telephone. I can directly describe my life and receive information about my family or friends in just several minutes, while transferring information by letter or e-mail cost time and energy. So I’d like to choose telephone. (2). Well, I definitely prefer to communicate with my family and friends by writing letters among the three. Writing is a habit of mine. In the letters I could express myself more deeply and clearly compared with the other two methods. And writing letters could help me practice my calligraphy. First of all, children are not mature enough to realize which TV programs are suit for them. Without a proper guide, children may have been misled by some unhealthy TV programs. Moreover, parents play an important role in helping children distinguish true and false, good and evil, beauty and ugly by comparing the situation in TV programs and reality,. Besides, parents are also responsible for preventing children from been obsessed in watching TV. So I agree with that parents should be able to lead their children to watch TV. (2). I think that censorship is not a good idea. I prefer to allow people to choose what they wish to view. Censorship measures that scenes of violence and unnecessary nudity and vulgarity do not offend anyone. In fact, children would be protected from seeing and hearing material that might upset them and cause them to behave in an extreme way. Advices from others may be just the opposite with your expectation. In addition, more personal experience will make one more mature and capable. You can realize the society more comprehensive and objective. So I ‘d like to learn from personal experience. (2). In my opinion, I would definitely prefer to take advices from my family and friends rather than listen to myself. Family members like my parents are the most intimate person in my life, they know me even better than myself sometimes. And my parents love me so much that what they suggest is always from my perspective, which will do no harm to me. In my opinion, I think it is Internet that helps us more while doing research. It could help you save a lot of time by using Internet. But nowadays I think Internet is much better. Firstly, Internet contains such a tremendous amount of information that academic books can never compare with. Do you prefer to study alone on work assignment from class or to study in groups? (1). I have leaned that I definitely prefer to study alone because I am more successful this way. The method I like to follow is to set a schedule for myself according to what I must study. If I divide it into units I can manage the workload better. Mostly, I focus on my weaker areas. There are my priority areas but they might not be the ones a study group chooses to work on. While a study group sounds like it might be fun and a way to share the work, my study time is more effective when I plan it alone. Organizing my own study time allows me to control the pace as well as the atmosphere of my study sessions. Without other people around me I can concentrate fully on the work and take in the material more efficiently. (2). I prefer to study in a group. Firstly, it’s inevitable for each of us to encounter problems when we study on work assignment. At this time group discussions will be very helpful because we can share our knowledge and learn a lot from others. I will definitely agree to the statement that students will learn more when they have discussion. Take me as an example, I still remember clearly the spring of 2003 when SARS attacked our city, we students were not allowed to study in the classroom together, and has to go home learn separately by on-line courses. So I have no partners to discuss with, and I got the lowest average GPA that semester. I think that's all because I do not understand pretty well without discussion with my teacher or classmates. 58. I tend to support that freshmen live with students of different grades. Firstly, freshmen usually choose almost the same common courses, so they have communicated enough with others in classes. I bet the most common reason for us attending university is to find a good job with bright future and decent pay when we graduate, like finance and marketing for example. I love literature, but I chose journalism to be my major in the university. Journalism is much more practical than literature. You can see this from the fact that the number of author is much less than the number of journalist. I agree with that one should choose a major that suits his/her interests. (1). I don’t think it’s reliable to judge a person by the first glance. Firstly, appearance doesn’t represent all. The information of a person you can get from a glance is very limited. You can’t tell many things just from the appearance, such as the past, hobbies, eating habits and so on. Furthermore, appearance lies, it may trick you. What you can get is partial, which may even lead to prejudice. A person who dress decently and talk sincerely doesn’t imply he’s definitely guiltless and kindly. So I support that one shouldn’t judge a person just from the appearance. (2). I don't think I will agree to the statement that one can judge a person simply by the appearance at the first glance. For example, at the first sight of my sales manager, I got really impressed by his professionalism reflected by the way he dressed, especially the navy blue color which is always my favorite. But several weeks passed, I found out that he knew nothing except apple-polishing. And you know what, our boss is a middle aged woman! She loves our sales manager, so that’s why he get this position. 76. One should live a relaxed life instead of always hurrying. Do you agree or disagree which the above statement? Why or why nor? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. (1). I don’t support having a relaxed and unhurried life. First of all, pressure engenders impetus. If you always keep living a relaxed life, you can learn nothing and even find life tedious, because you have no idea what you are living for. In addition, practice is the only criteria of truth. What you have learned in class are very limited and even false, so you shouldn’t be superstition about textbooks. Practice need to be paid more attention to. (2). I agree to the statement that the most important lesson cannot be learned in class. The lesson we have learn on class is some basic knowledge. What we learn in the society is much more practical and important as well.For example, you will never learn how to deal with the relationship among co-workers in classroom, but it is crucial to manage this kind of relationship if you want to survive in the fierce competition in a company. And this kind of skill could only be taught in the society. 80. Someone suggests school to cut the Recycling. Do you agree or disagree with this suggestion, explain why. I tend to disagree with cutting the recycling in school. Firstly, recycling can remind students of the importance of environmental protection. With a recycling system, students will discard garbage into the special recycling garbage boxes instead of throw them away randomly in campus. In addition, school can employ workers to deal with the garbage regularly, it can also provide a job chance for people with low-income.
