CHAPTER 12 HELIDECK FACILITIES
12.1 General provisions
12.1.1 The requirements for the dimension, arrangements, peripheral lights and illumination, marking, communication and homing and safety facilities for the helideck must implement No. 67 China Civil Aviation Law “Provisions for Operation of Civil Offshore Helicopter Deck” issued by China Civil Aviation Bureau.
12 Design of Helideck Structure
12.2.1
Design method
Helideck structures may be designed with the methods described in the applied specifications and standards. If other methods are used in design, they shall be approved by the platform operator.
12.2.2
Basic loading conditions
Basic loading conditions include dead loads, live loads, wind load and helicopter landing load.
12.2.3
Combined loading conditions
The structure of helideck shall be designed at least according to the following combined loading conditions:
12.2.3.1 Dead loads plus live loads;
12.2.3.2
dead loads plus the designed landing load, appropriate live loads shall be considered, if there exists icing effect during the helicopter landing;
12.2.3.3 dead loads plus wind load and corresponding live loads.
12.2.4
Design of deck plate of the helideck
Deck plate may be designed with large deflection theory and other recognized methods. Basic information for the design of a deck plate shall be based on the data supplied by the manufacturer of the helicopter or data accepted by the platform operator.
12.2.5
Structure analysis for fabrication and installation period
The related provisions of Article 9, Chapter 3 and 5 of this Rules shall be complied.
12.3 Fire Extinguishing Facilities and Safety Marking
12.3.1 The extinguishing facility and appliances shall be fitted on helideck to comply with the related provisions of Article 4 and 5, Chapter 14 of the Rules.
12.3.2 On the route leading to helideck, a signboard shall be provided indicating attentions to be paid during the approach and departure of helicopter.
