《Specialized English for Apparel》Syllabus 一、 The nature and task of course: The nature of course: This course is a three-year professional training course in the major of Fashion Design. The task of course: The data and equipment related to clothing, stitch, sewing parts and overall general principles and processes are selected in this course. from raw materials, preparation, marker, drawing and playing a model release and the related sewing operations techniques to the latest technology, many aspects of professional clothing are mentioned to provide the foundation for studies in more specialized areas of clothing. When the students finish the course, they can read and understand the English description, including clothing company's technical information relating to garment, sewing techniques, quality control, marketing contract, clothing description, clothing materials, and so on. 二、Course objectives： 1. Knowledge objective:(1) Enable students to understand the situation and development prospects of the modern garment industry. (2) Enable students to grasp the garment equipment, process and production of technical terms in English(3)Enable students to master the volume of apparel pattern making and physical aspects of the English term(4) Enable students to master the English language knowledge processing contracts 2. Capacity Aim:(1) Through teaching and training in classroom, students can read and understand specialized vocabulary in garment industry. Assessment requirements: to outline the provisions of points required knowledge and skills    Examination Form: Taking the form of closed book examinations for the course, examine them upon the students’ knowledge learned.    Grades Description: Grades in accordance with the thinking of the students in English, the work of seriousness and timeliness of work completed to score. " Specialized English for Apparel " that the course is a professional courses for the major of Fashion Design is outlined according to the 2008 Fashion Design Teaching Program and it can be used as high school students in college-level educational system. 2. Study of Specialized English is required clothing and apparel business reality and in practice.
