处于二十世纪工业革命背景下的西方人面临着精神危机，价值崩溃，人们为了尘世的生活而牺牲自己的灵魂。劳伦斯的小说《儿子与情人》便是对当时人们宗教价值观的反映。
劳伦斯是一位敢于透彻探索的作家，无论在写作风格还是思想观念上均有独到之处。古今中外对其代表作之一《儿子与情人》的评论不胜其数，以探讨其中的性描写、人与自然的统一和灵与肉的结合等居多，而把这部小说与《圣经》联系起来进行解读的则为数不多。本文试图弥补这一不足，分析《儿子与情人》中的宗教解放思想，进而揭示劳伦斯的写作意图及救世情怀，并引导人们如何在生活的激流中寻找自己心中的上帝，如何在物质生活和精神生活之间寻求平衡。

Abstract
D.H. Lawrence is a writer who dares to explore life thoroughly with his unique style. Criticisms about his Sons and Lovers abound in number and in intensity, but most of them work from perspectives of sexuality, unification of human and nature, and integration of spirit and flesh.
The present paper, however, focuses on the aspect of religious emancipation in Sons and Lovers through analyzing Lawrence’s different interpretation of the Bible in this novel and makes a survey on the relationship between D.H Lawrence and the Bible, and most importantly, on the fruitful intersection of the two. Based on Lawrence’ religion, my paper sheds light on his sentiments of spiritual salvation and shows how to find one’s own God in the passion and flood of life, and to keep a balance of spiritual and material life.
